Couldn't let this go without saying something on behalf of the 15s e-mod. Last Sat. at Brills I saw something that really ticked me off. I've been involved in racing many years and this was one off the worst displays off poor sportsmanship I've seen. I'd like to say to the 5T mod. team of Randy Timms and the 5X 2barrel sprint of Brent Swift if you think your behavior Sat. night was cute. well to those of us who heard it, it only showed what a real jerk you are! Trying to put another driver down cause hes not drivin as nice a rig as yours and cause he has to work for a living and your something special cause your job is racing is just really bad sportsmanship. I've known the 15S e-mod Adam Smith and his wife Pam (who also use to race) a long time. They are 2 of the best people in racing I know. They both would do just about anything to help a fellow driver. Oh and next time why don't you go to Mr. Smith instead of mouthing off to his wife when he's not around.

Yeah racing is all about how big of a rig you have and how much money you waste on it. Apparently a huge enclosed trailor and a semi truck make your race car faster. I know it definitely makes your head bigger.
Darren Stewart who almost won the super sprint points at SFS this year pulled in every week with an open trailor. It was pretty cool. How did the guys back in the day ever race without air conditioning in their haulers?

i have SERIOUSLY been considering
starting a race team mostly local okla.and tx ( ascs ) and yes I,ve been in racing most of my
life but only a few years in sprint cars which in my humble opinion is
the best racing anywhere,, and yes we would have the big hauler and
plenty of spares and that DOES NOT hurt the sport contrary to what some
people think,,, but it"s becoming such a crybaby sport I may just keep
on play golf and fishing everyday,,, BTW I"m 44 yrs old and retired so
I'm not some good old days guy,,, no offense inteneded to anyone it just doesnt seem worth the BS right now... maybe I'm dead wrong it wouldnt be the first time,, hell just look at some of my great investments once again just one idiots opinion which means nothing... on a side note what is the opinion of the roush/yates 360?? just so we are all clear about this I have ne desire to drive myself....my 17 yr old son says I drive like an old lady so I damn sure dont want to log on here every sat. morning and read about how bad I suck

Smoke
Appreciate your post and your thoughts and it seems you are new to my message board. With that said I want to say "welcome" if that is true.
Everybody has an opinion, both drivers and fans alike, and the bad part about it is that everybody is intitled to them. Do we have to agree? Nope. But who are we to say they are right or wrong just as who are they to say if what you or I post is right or wrong. It is a difference of opinion and that is good.
I think the point was don't bash somebody or the "have nots" as more than likely they will respect their and your equipment more so as that is probably all they have. Not always but there are those who have enclosed trailers to look good going down the road but don't have near the equipment in that spacious thing. I remember the late Jack Claxton say one time when this area went to 410 type sprints, "They just bough a sprint car to say they have one and don't even plan on racing it all the time."
My opinion is that if you have the funds to get enclosed or have a multible team then that is great as racing needs teams out there. But don't go spending on something to look good when you could put that money into your operation to make yourself better.
Again just my opinion, for what it is worth.
David Smith Jr.

I guess I must explain myself a little better, I don't care what you have or don't have. You got teams that want to look good pulling in to a track and some teams that it don't really matter they are just happy to be there, and put their money in the car rather than a big ole fancy rig. But to bash someone for not having a first class team and a shinny big rig seems wrong to me. I just set back and enjoy a nite of racing with a corndog in one hand and a coke in the other... I come to watch the cars race not the haulers pull into the pits.

I am kinda in the thought process of if you want to spend the money for the semi and such then more power to you. Its your money. Does it make you any better overall driver maybe maybe not.
At Brill's this weekend the winner of the Champ A does not have a semi to haul his car in. I have joked with him in the past about getting one and going big time. He laughed at me and was like yea whatever. I can understand getting one if making a living out of racing but if you are a weekend racer then there is not a need for one unless you race at a track that is a long way from home.
The guy I help has a enclosed bumper pull which he tows behind a Ford Diesel. We have our torsion bars, spare front end, set up blocks, gears, and spare tires all in this trailer. We had a semi trailer last year but it was costing too much money to justify the amount of racing we did. Was it nice sure. If fact the person that bought it is one of the boards fav.
Someone tell me when was the last time a hauler has won a A feature.

This reminds me of the old days when Jerry Bruner used to pull into Lawton Speedway with an open trailer and Jr. Bruner driving the old van or when they use to come to Faxon with a little open trailer and the old blue Mazda pickup. The were always fast and more times than not ended up winning or being real close to front after starting from the back.

I have known Brent for a year or two and i have never seen or heard of him putting anyone down. He is always kind and friendly to all the fans and racers around him. Brent also owns his own business and is very succesful and im sure he didnt get there by treating people like crap. JMO Darin Robison

Just for clearification we found gas for our semi at a local gas station on the east side of the city.

I don't know what happenend, But Adam is Family and Brent is a long time friend! Brent doesn't have a big semi hauler and Adam doesn't have one either, My guess is it might be the other party. Don't know Timms, But If he acted the way he did then thats just wrong! Timms couldn't find the the track last year in that sport mod, thats why he sold it! Adam is one down right, Heckva guy! We put many of hours in together on my cars! As for for Brent!, I don't see Brent Lowering himself to that level but, I could be wrong! I will give him a call tomarrow and get his side, Like I said, Money is the root of all evil and haulers don't make you fast they just make you fit in! Thanks Brian Wolfe!

I have heard the fans in the crowd so mad because they can't see the whole track because of the big rigs. But I guess if I had the money I would probably get one myself. On the other hand if I paid to watch the races I would like to be able to see the whole track, not just the front stretch.

I don't know Randy, but Brent's a good guy. He helps lower budget people, is nice to everyone, and doesn't even own that big of truck and trailer. You should tell the whole story and mention that this is all over not being able to save a parking spot and was actually not a big deal at the race track. But when Thursday rolls around (5 days later?) it's important enough to post on the internet and spin it your way.

WOW... Cheese I think you got confused on who posted the bashing . I was not in anyway bashing Brent Swift, he is a good guy from what I understand. I come to watch racing not to watch the haulers pull in to the pits. I do not care what you have or have not to pull your car in to the track. Is a $250,000.00 rig needed to pull a race car to the track ? If a person thinks it is well I guess it is. But on the other hand if someone else thinks it is not and rather put their money in their car than a big ole shinny rig thats their business...

maybe I posted in the wrong thread as I dont care if you drag your car there in a damn u_ haul all Im saying IF I WERE TO start a team I would have a big hauler because I can,,, and let me tell you it makes it a whole hell of a lot easier to go up and down those long ass hyways in something besides an f350 dually and a 24' tag,,, Im not saying Im just saying,,,not trying to offend anyone,, believe me Ive payed a lot of attention to what both Darren and Shane Stewart did this year on a very limited budget,,, I fully believe Shane is one of the top 5 or 6 drivers in the country right now and without these "poor boy" racers showing up every week how many cars would we have?? not many

As my husband always said, "I've never seen a big rig win a race". Big Jay that blue Mazda was still around up until about 3 years ago, lol, it's now out in the sprint car grave yard at the Bruner's.
