Jimmy Thompson? =Which= Jimmy Thompson? (Where's he from?) Otherwise, Hamblin on the podium. Nice.

Has to be "Junkyard" Jimmy Thompson from Santa Maria in the 71 car. He hasn't been out all year that I know of and he never cared for Hanford. Strange place to run when everybody else is running away from the place.

Maybe a tuneup for next weeks show at Santa Maria?

No comments on the track prep at Kings so far, but there was an awful lot of fast drivers that did poorly in Midgets and sprints. No use to even comment on the count.

Sad...the first Cotton Classis that I attended in the early '90s had over forty cars - all 410s,too!

That was the Jimmy Thompson from Santa Maria. Unfortunately he will be unable to race Santa Maria this weekend as he went on vacation. They got their motor finished and he had already booked his vacation so he will be gone. They went this last Saturday to shake the car down.
