“Race Fan’s Dream” Draws Sell-Out Crowd & 235 Cars; Cowtown Sprint Nationals Up Next

Kennedale TX (9/28/09) by DarinShort.com. The first ever “Race Fan’s Dream” lived up to its billing of ‘something for every fan’ this past Saturday night at Cowtown Speedway.

And like they say, “Everything is bigger in Texas:” a sell-out crowd witnessed 235 race teams assemble for a night of wild action, mixed with reflection and patriotism with the 9-11 Memorial presentation and professional fireworks display.

11th place starter Clyde Dunn Jr. picked up the $2,000 to win Modified feature in the whopping 48-car field. 7th place starter George White took the checkers over the 25-car Sprint Car field and Max Eddie Thomas won the LenMar Motorsports Late Models feature. Complete results are posted at the track website
www.CowtownSpeedway.com.

For a brief event recap including picture slideshow, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram has assembled a page on their Motorsports section, dated 9/27/09; which can be viewed at:

Cowtown Speedway would like to thank the fans and race teams for their support and cooperation in helping to pull off an event of this size, all within the confines of a one-night format and a budget-friendly $15 adult general admission price.

The Race Fan’s Dream was the final warm-up for the $85,000 2nd annual Cowtown Sprint Nationals (CSN) presented by ShopTheBoss.com and Lone Star Speedway and takes place on October 9th and 10th. The Topless 100 for the Modifieds, Limited Topless Modifieds and Winged 600’s Championships will also be a part of the jumbo-sized, open wheel weekend of racing action.

Race teams are urged to pre-register for this event by October 4th, as that will reserve a pit parking space for their tow rig. At the time of print, there are currently 55 Sprint Car teams from 11 states entered, with many more expected to join the fray.

The CSN field assembling is quickly turning into a “who’s who” of the sprint car racing world and it is also the final ASCS Lone Star, Gulf South and Sooner region point’s race of 2009.

The pit parking assignments will be finalized on October 5th from those that have taken the time to pre-enter, on a first-come, first-served basis; and that goes for all race divisions. The race track will park race teams not pre-entered where they see best fitted; so if your tow rig has special needs due to its size, you should pre-enter to make sure those needs can be met, best as possible. It also helps the announcer keep fans better informed.

The Topless Modifieds, Limiteds and Winged 600’s can also take advantage of saving $25 off of race week entry fees by preregistering on or before October 4th.

Special 2-day advance adult tickets are also available through October 8th for just $35, which is $10 off of race weekend pricing. A limited supply of reserved-seat tickets are currently available for just $40, which guarantees you to premium seating.

Just click
www.CowtownSpeedway.com for complete Cowtown Sprint Nationals information, including driver pre-entry list, race pre-registration, advance tickets, event flyer and more.

Congratulations to all of the winners in the first-ever “Race Fan’s Dream.” We’re looking forward to another action-packed weekend of racing on October 9th and 10th with the running of the Cowtown Sprint Nationals at the Fastest Li’l Dirt Track In Texas, Cowtown Speedway!
