Last weekend saw Springfield, Illinois' Jordan Goldesberry compete three times in the Land of Lincoln with the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders. On Friday at Jacksonville, Illinois' Morgan County Speedway, the third year sprint driver finished 3rd in the Ideal Ready Mix 4th heat race. In the Herb Barlow Memorial A-main, Jordan made contatct with the front stretch infield tires, resulting in a 20th place finish.
The next evening saw the team head north to Spoon River Speedway for the Tom Knowles Memorial, where Goldesberry garnered his first career sprint car win in 2008. After taking the checkers in the Ideal Ready Mix 4th heat race, the 18 year old Illinois racer finished 6th in the Rich DeReu Memorial Shake Up Dash. In the A-main, Jordan had a strong run going in the top 5 before contact with another racer forced him over the berm, resulting in a 15th place finish.
Sunday night saw Goldesberry and the rest of the SIA contingent head west to wrap up the weekend at Quincy Raceways. Finishing 4th in the Huston Land Improvement 3rd heat race, Jordan pushed the Goldesberry Signs and Designs/ Modern Paving and Scrap/Union BoilermakerGear/Goodridge Fittings/Fibertech Racing #65 up into the top 5 in the A-main before ulitimately finishing 7th.
The team will take this weekend off in order to gear up for 410 sprint competition with the Don Ott powered Maxim Chassis at the 18th annual Shaheen's Blast from the Past on Sept.23 at Morgan County Speedway. Jordan will then wrap up the weekend with the O' Reilly Midwest All Star Series at the Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana.
