I propose 20stewart redirect his efforts towards Lawton Speedway officials, maybe even the promoter himself.
On one hand - congrats dude for making a new thread - instead of just pushing that other one to the top incessantly. On the other hand - it's gotten to a point that is close to irritating. It's not my place to say what one should or should not talk about on here. But I will comment on the REASON of it. The logic, if you will. You bumping that thread up the way you did accomplished next to nothing. You could have saved the time you spent finding that thread and bumping it back up.
Why not just contact Lawton Speedway officials? I think you should. After all, you are a fan. A customer. They owe you an answer and short explanation of their reasoning. Maybe not owe it to you - but I think they would hear you out and discuss it with you for a tick.
I'm not going to say I admire your persistence in this, but I get it. It's just become annoying. Because you have accomplished all you were ever going to ON HERE. There was no aim to see what others thought. There are ways to talk about this with others on here, but you aren't asking questions. You are going about this like Lanny himself is reading it, or that it actually matters to him what weekend would be most convenient for you (which btw - what happened to the perfect date that did not conflict with your beloved Late Model/asphalt races?).
If you have a weekend in mind that you think would be just tip-top - then call the track and talk to them about it. Or confer with other Lawton Speedway patrons about what they think would be best (you know, like actually ask the question).
I don't mean this as bashing. I went on for a week or 2 about SFS Spring Nationals and why I thought they should have made it up the week after they rained out. But I was giving my opinion to others and then seeing theirs as well. And in a certain time frame both the upside and downside of running it. Once it became clear there was no makeup in sight - there was no point in talking about it anymore. The SFS Spring Nationals will not be made up. And the Cyclone 50 will probably not be made up either. Each track will have a Winter Nationals - and that will be it. There are too many other big races going on to just pencil in a date in October or November and expect more success than a weekly show. Yes, it could be done with advertising/promoting and great care in selecting a weekend. But I think Lanny will be content to run his Winter Nationals at his 3 tracks - and call it successful a year. And then get ready to cash in his annual New Year's Lottery (the Chili Bowl).
Might as well let it go dude. Or take it to those who actually make the call. Or just make believe that the Lawton Winter Nationals is actually the Cyclone 50.
