I just made a deal for a "RACERS SPECIAL" rate for motel rooms for the big Sport Mod race next weekend "HUNT FOR THE BIG DOG" and the TEXAS vs KANSAS Sprint car race.
THE MAGNUSON HOTEL formally the Ramada Inn, located art I-40 and Ross street at exit number 71 off of I-40
1-4 people for $42.99 PER NIGHT. Just tell them you are here for the races at the Speedbowl. you even get free breakfast too.
It's a fairly nice place sort of a step up above the motel 6. They have lots of well lit parking for the race car haulers.
GPS ADDRESS IS: 1620 I-40 EAST, AMARILLO, TEXAS 79103
PHONE NUMBER FOR RESERVATIONS: 806.374.2020
GET YOUR PRE-ENTRY IN. TODAY IS THE POST MARKED DEADLINE TO PRE-ENTER SEPT. 15 JUST DROP IT INTO THE MAIL TOMORROW. YOU CAN STILL ENTER BUT AFTER TOMORROW IF YOU WANT TO RUN FOR THE FULL PURSE YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY THE LATE ENTRY FEE.
We have 6 cars pre-entered so far and the mail man will be bringing the entriesthis week. I only expect around 35 cars, so you will have a good chance to get some of the bucks if you come race. We can only handle 300 entries so don't wait too long. LOL

19 pre-entered cars so far for the richest Sport Mod race in the country.
Should be 30 to 40 total cars, you could get you some of it by towing to Amarillo $5000 to win and $300 to start the "A"

Randy I know this don't mean much but if you would move your 305 show up or back a week we would be there. The SST group is racing Ardmore October 18th

It does mean a lot to me. I always plan my races around other track schedules and I made sure that I missed Smiley's date it was set of Oct 11. He was fully aware of my race and he does not want you guys going to it so, I'm certain he arranged this date change to keep you guys home. I already have several entries from the SST bunch and some will come run for the money anyway. If you guys like that goofy deal he puts on you then support it. Looks to me like he has a cheater car that whips up on you guys and makes it look like super man did it. OH WELL, Each to his own. I looked at moving my race up a week to the 11th but too many of my other guys told me that they had made plans to take off work and such so I'm sorry if you guys can't come I'd love to have more of you. This race is going to be very interesting. We have run one preliminary event sort of as a test and we will be running the 305's again on the 25,26,&27th $500 to win on fri and then a 2 day show for $1000 to win in the 26 & 27th. So far, no one can see any advantage that either car has on the other. I had 7 cars at the last race and I am expecting 14 to 15 for this coming race and about 30 for the big show in October. Wish you could be here but I will wish you luck in what ever race you decide to run.

I just figured you would want as many cars as you could get. As far as I know there is not another 305 race on the 11th or the 25th. I would like to run for the 5 grand but will support the SST. If it wasn't for the SST then I would not have a place to run. As far as I know Ardmore was the one that changed there date for the Winternationals. It was on our SST schedule for the 11th. What makes Smileys deal Goofy? I like it we run a different track every other week. Thanks anyway and hope you have success with your 305 race
