Hats off to Handy Racing Productions. The ADDED grandstand in the pits for the Gold Cup is a big plus to this event. This has been long over due. The pits have always been so crowded where there are people standing every where. Even with this added grandstand it will be packed Friday and Saturday still.
Also Handy has added entertainment with the big screen added activity "Fantastic Finishes" highlights footage of past Gold Cup events for Thursday.
Thank you Alan Handy for your continuing effort for making improvements that again has been long over due. You will have ups and downs as you continue to make improvements but don't stop because at the end it will be a plus to all who loves racing.
Thank you again Handy Racing Production for the added grandstand this year in the pits at the Gold Cup

The new flag stand cage and the beautiful track display car are two more great additions. The place does look great. Before the post race show starts tonight there will be some music videos played on the big screen and sound system. This will give people time to get over to the Pavillion if they want to attend the Gold Cup Tribute video and party.

I agree with this thread so far. The place has never looked better!
I also would like to add... that was the worst race surface I have ever witnessed in all my years of watching races in Chico. Also a first for me was seeing a fuel stop on lap 4 and tires popping by lap 14. Lets hope they get this racing surface prepared better for the next three days.

Thank you again Handy Racing Promotions for a job well done. The added grandstands was packed as said earlier in a post. I hope next year the added grandstands will be a permanent fixture for the gold cup. The track was good for all 3 nights. Watched the video clip from Cmpvideo2go with Alan Handy and if make me feel good to see him dedicate himself to dirt track racing - the long hours he is putting in. He's doing a great job with all the changes that are taking place and trying not to let it affect the racing. Alan thank you and your staff for everything you are doing. Some times us race fans don't see what it takes to make it successful. I think and many others that I have talked to feel we needed a change in promoters for improvements.
Looking forward to next years Gold Cup and 2010 races..

I agree the Civil war show was disastrous. But after that night each night got better and better. The overall improvements to the gold cup were amazing. The best gold cup I have been to in recent memory. Count my ticket request as being there on Columbus day.
