FAST Championship on the Line This Saturday at Fremont Speedway

MAUMEE, OH (9-9-09) by Bryan Autullo - FAST Public Relations

With the 2009 racing season winding down to a close, all eyes in Northern Ohio will be focused on Fremont Speedway on Saturday September 12th as Craig Mintz tries to hold off Byron Reed to claim the inaugural Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship. Mintz will pull into the pits with a 61 point lead over the experienced veteran Reed who has been chasing him down for the last half of the season. On top of the battle for the Kistler Cup, Mintz and Reed will be battling Brock Mayes for the Fremont Track Championship. Mayes currently holds an 11 point lead over Reed and a 12 point lead over Mintz. Things could get very interesting as the night unfolds.

Another heated battle will take place between Mark Keegan and Chris Andrews who are tied for 3rd place in FAST points. Keegan has held the 3rd spot for most of the summer, but Andrews managed to catch him on August 29th at Attica Raceway Park - the same night he claimed the Attica Track Championship. Andrews is only the 6th 410 driver to etch his name into the Attica record book as Keegan and Reed have dominated most of the past two decades. With Andrews on a hot streak and Keegan being a master of the Fremont clay, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top - the young gun Andrews or the living legend Keegan.

Further down the list only 58 points separate 5th place Mike Linder from 8th place Cap Henry. Brock Mayes and Caleb Griffith sit in 6th and 7th place looking to improve their postions and increase their paychecks at the FAST banquet. Kevin Lee holds down the 9th position just 34 points ahead of Lee Jacobs in 10th. On the outside looking in is Brandon Martin in 11th place, just 5 points behind Jacobs. There could very well be some changes throughout the Top 10 when the dust settles this Saturday night.

Cap Henry, who has had a fantastic year in his first full 410 season, leads the FAST Rookie of the Year competition with a 35 point advantage over Kevin Lee. Lee has also made great strides in his first full 410 season. Duane Zablocki has also shown signs of greatness this season and if not for a few bouts of bad luck, he would be knocking on Lee and Henry's door. Henry and Lee will duel in the dirt to see who comes out on top and wins the $500 Rookie of the Year bonus check.

Come to Fremont Speedway on Saturday and see how it all shakes out. The 2009 season is about to come to a close and the Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship Series will crown its first champion. He left the 410 ride that he was running at fremont and attica and is now running a 360 at lima I think. Someone else would have to confirm that.

Craig Mintz has got to be one of the most improved drivers in the nation. He has had quite an impressive run this year, also winning outside of the FAST tracks.
