I am still looking for old video (film converted to DVD or VHS) from 1980 and before all that back into the '60's. If any of you have anything like that and would be interested in making me a copy, please email me at [email protected].

I do have the following:

15 minutes of the '74 Hutch Nationals fire

1959 Taft Stadium (OKC)

'72-73 MARCAR OKC tape

1960's from Muskogee and Tulsa Speedway

Harold Leep documentary

I would love a copy of Leeps final Hutch Nationals victory from the early 80's and anything old from anywhere else. From the Kansas area would be cool for my collection.

Thank you in advance.

David, Is there a chance you would convert your collection to a DVD that would be available for sale? I would love to have a copy.

Thanks,

Sid

Sid, I won't sell any of my stuff as I love making copies as it gives me a chance to watch those videos again. I am just needing to come up with $200 to buy me that DVD/VCR combo from Wal-Mart that will allow me to convert. I have alot of old NCRA late model and champ car videos from 1984 - as well as old WoO videos from the 80's I want to convert also.

Let me know which of the old stuff you would like and I will let you know when I have the stuff done.

Taft Stadium 1959

First year OKC Fairgrounds track was built running jalopies

MARCAR/OKC 72-73

Tulsa Speedway/Muskogee Speedway 1963 -

Harold Leep video

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again I am still looking for old video from Kansas and Oklahoma of the old super modifieds/champ dirt cars and even old WoO sprint car videos. If you have any to swap, please email me at [email protected].

Thank you

Thanks David! I am sure I would enjoy viewing all of your collection, but my particular interest is MarCar 72-73 and the Harold Leep video.

Thanks again and good luck!

Sid

David I was going through my old vcr tapes and finally found one that you might like. In the mid 90s ESPN had a series called "Glory Days". It was hosted by Dave Despain and I have about 9 or 10 shows on the tape. It has the commercials and every thing else and is any thing but a pro job but some of it is interesting. I just got through watching the last show on the tape and it was the Langhorn 1 mile dirt track in 1963. It has AJ, Parnelli, Jim Hurtibise, Don Branson and the rest of the USAC racers,You can see the drivers real good. The rest of the tape is mainly sports car racing from the 60s, Ford GT 40, Ferrari,Chaparral etc. I Would be happy to make a copy and send it to you and then you could get copies to everybody else that would like one, let me know if you want the whole tape or just the Langhorn part?

I attended one race at Taft Stadium in 1951. I was stationed at Ft Hood Texas & got a 4 day pass. A new friend from Osawatomie KS had his car there so we deceided to go the Drexel Mo & get my car. We came up Hwy 81 to the Arkansas River & it was water as far as you could see (July 1951 flood). We went west through Wellington and North to Kingman & stayed there. Another guy from Kingman was with us. We could get to Wichita on Hwy 54 so went to the races. They were racing full stock sedans and about anything with wheels & was stock. We went back from there to Kingman & Ft Hood. I never got my car until late August. Luther Brewer
