This is right here on HoseHeads in the classified section. The rig and trailer are for sell. Are they selling out or hopefully just up grading for next year. Anyone got the scoop on this?

The rumor at the raceway tonight is that the owner told Mc Carl to run on Sat. on Knoxville, Sunday at Huset's, and Monday everything is for sale. Like I said, the rumor at the track. Had three different people tell me that so and so told so and so who in turn told so and so. they have been selling sweat shirts and t-shirts at the hauler for $5. We shall see Monday, I guess.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

I can tell you that Terry himself told us live on the radio on our Live Trackside show before the races tonight that Todd is "talkin about sellin everything" so he wasn't sure what the future holds---he joked that he may be managing a Casey's store or something---so Id say its true since T-Mac commented about it himself----very unfortunate I think----they've had an outstanding year and Terry is a hell of a driver---Im sure he'll get a ride---but who wil it be with?

This sucks. After reading that it looks like they are done. Maybe Terry will buy back part of the team like before this year and be the owner/driver again.

Someone told me this on Friday night as well. T-Mac is out of a ride after this weekend. Also heard something about Schatz putting his own team back together in 2010 and leaving TSR. Something about Schatz wanting to be in control of his own car. Rumor, but it sounds like the first part of this rumor was right. Nohting last forever in racing folks.

i would like to see Schatz do that. just maybe it would irritate Tony and he would make huge changes on the 20 to beat the 15. Meyers in the 20 in 2010?

If this turns out to be fact I hope Casey's and the Parsons #6 cans the Dude and puts Terry in the car.. I have always seen this as a logical fit given the market Casey's operates stores in and Terry's promotional ability. It was always a head scratcher why a midwest C Store company would have a PA driver (Shaffer)
As far as Schatz leaving TSR that would be funny. I never thought Schatz needed Tony anyway
More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

In this weak economy, the 24 team probably won't be the only team to sell out, if in fact this is true, or temporarily sit out from lack of sponsorship dollars. Realistically, with the high cost of engines alone at $40,000.-$50,000. and expensive rebuilds every 10 races, if the engine last that long, who could blame them. The cost is outrageous for the return. It will take wealthy car owners to keep going and the cost will squeeze more little guys out or down to another class. The sponsorship dollars are tough right now. There are more talented drivers than good cars available.
Not many rides out there, but TMAC will find one in the Knoxville, Husets or IRA territory. He is too good and experienced to pass up.

Maybe this will add to the argument of Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne hurting sprint car racing more than they are helping? It's great those guys are supporting their roots for sure and fielding teams in different forms of the sport. But are they indirectly driving up the cost of the sport?

When it was first announced that BigGame bought out the team from TMac over the offseason I was a little worried then that this could happen. Its nice to have someone else paying the bills but at the same time they can let you go at any time. TMac will find a ride, I hope before the season is over. I was really hoping he could make the Jacksonville show on 9-25. Hopefully he can but it looks like in another ride. BigGame has been with Terry for a long long time. Im sure Terry isnt too happy about this, but he also knows that this is a business and shit happens sometimes. He will find something, hes too good of a driver not to.
