9/5/2009 - Season Championship Night Saturday!

(Bill W) The 2009 Knoxville Championship Cup Series reaches its climax this Saturday night on Robuck’s Automotive Season Championship night! Extra money and extra laps will both be on the line for the weekly sprint car warriors that call Knoxville home on Saturday nights! Don't forget the Enduro on Sunday either. It's 200 laps or two hours!

New Mexico’s “Hollywood”
Johnny Herrera has a 101 point lead on Missouri’s “Blackjack” Brian Brown heading into Saturday. Johnny is going for his second track championship. His first came in 1995. Last week, 6-time track champion, Terry McCarl , was victorious over Herrera and Rager Phillips , who notched a career best finish.

Though the top spot can be secured with a strong night by Herrera, there are plenty of positions up for grabs behind him. McCarl is third in the points, ahead of “Zoom Zoom”
Dusty Zomer , Don Droud Jr ., “The Mad Man” Kerry Madsen , Skip “Action” Jackson, Lynton Jeffrey , Billy Alley and “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier . All will be aiming at the top prize of $4,000 for the 25-lap feature win!

Clint Garner has secured the 360 side of things, and this will be his first championship. Young Jonathan Cornell has separated himself in the second spot as the top rookie. “The Shocker” Dustin Selvage used a win last week to vault into the third spot in the standings, ahead of Ryan Roberts and Dennis Moore Jr.
