Bring Your 410 And Race Lone Star's WoOFest During $400,000 "Southern Month Of Money"

Kilgore TX (9/2/09) by DarinShort.com. Starting in October, the "Southern Month of Money" kicks off…and if you have a 410 engine for your sprint car, make sure to bring it with you. As, the World of Outlaws sprint cars make an encore performance at the high-banked ½ mile of Lone Star Speedway on Saturday October 24th at 'WoOFest.'

This event is sandwiched between four other Southern Month of Money events. The swing has combined race purses at $400,000; and well over $50,000 possible overall to win in races within a very close driving proximity of each other.

The swing kicks off October 9-10th with the running of the $85,000 Cowtown Sprint Nationals (CSN) presented by ShopTheBOSS.com and Lone Star Speedway. The CSN event is sanctioned by three of ASCS regional series and is held at Cowtown Speedway near Ft. Worth. You can also purchase your WoOFest tickets at Cowtown Speedway throughout the weekend. CSN tickets are now on sale at www.CowtownSpeedway.com.

Sprint teams can then race the following weekend at the Winter Nationals in Mesquite, which is sanctioned by the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Series, just 50 miles down the road from Cowtown.

Then on October 24th, teams will travel 90 miles down the road to Kilgore for WoOFest, featuring the World of Outlaws sprint cars paying $10,000 to the winner and over $50,000 in race purses. There will be fun pre-race activities, including an autograph session and more. Advance reserved tickets are on sale and can be purchased at www.LoneStarSpeedway.com.

Teams will then drift northeast up to I-30 about four hours to the 22nd running of the O'Reilly Short Track Nationals (STN) presented by Hoosier Tire, which kick off the following Wednesday through Saturday; October 28-31. October 28th is practice night, with qualifying on Thursday and Friday, and the $15,000 to win and $2,200 to start 40-lap championship feature held on Saturday October 31st. Event details can be found by clicking www.I-30Speedway.com. More STN event info can be found by clicking www.darinshort.com/STN.html.

The following weekend is the rain date for the STN, the WoO World Finales in Charlotte and NASCAR weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, giving fans and teams have several options available to them.

What should probably be renamed the "Southern Month of Acronyms" (with the CSN and STN for ASCS, plus WoO at LSS and the NSS…all near DFW) the Southern Month of Money wraps up where it all began at Cowtown Speedway for the running of the 3rd Annual $85,000 November Sprint Shootout (NSS) and the Eagle Chassis ASCS2 Series Finale on November 13-14th.

These events are all in close proximity of each other. And, with DFW Airport being the hub servicing all areas of the country; traveling teams can take advantage of several of these events and yet be home for part of the week, if need be, with some advance planning. This will make for a more economical swing, as once traveling teams arrive in the DFW area, there is not much road travel required to get to the next event.

Please visit www.SouthernMonthOfMoney.com for the latest in news regarding these events. The page will be updated regularly as news becomes available.

We hope you can join us for as many of these blockbuster events as you can. And make sure to bring your 410 engine with you to have some fun on the high banks of Lone Star Speedway with WoOFest on October 24th.
