I'm bringing my family and I know of at least 20 other people coming for this show. I think Ford, Miller, and Murphy among others are running this race among others. What kind of car count could we expect?

I have been racing sprint cars for several years and there is a difference between spec sprints and 360 sprints. Every advertisement has been saying open 360 show. Unless you know something the rest of us dont. All the drivers I know going dont even own a spec sprint motor. See you fri.

360 OPEN show. There is bonus prize money for the top finishing specs. Got the track website for details.
If some guys from central/southern california are coming I would expect 30 or so cars. Just a guess though.

so can i run ANY 360? can i run an aluminum block 360? can i run nitro? can i run any tires i want? can i run any heads i want? can i run any injection i want? is there any weight rule. if the answer to any of these questions but one is NO then it is not an OPEN race, and definetly not a run what you brung, and you need to stop advertising it as such. by the way, are your rules (wait, open shows don't have rules) as secret as your big name racers who you can't say are coming? by the way, if i take the wing off my 355 c.i. camaro can i bring that?

I stand corrected. After digging around a little, I found the rules for the race. They are as follows: 360 Wingless Sprint Car * Weight requirements: 1525lbs. w/Driver * 95dba @ 100’ * Any tire * Any Carb or Fuel Injection ONLY * Gas or Alcohol Fuel ONLY * $300 bonus to top finishing carbureted car $200 2nd finishing, $100 3rd finishing * Numbers are First Come, First Served

Is this necessary?
All you have to do is go to the track website link posted by the original poster and look at the rules. Pretty easy.
Thanks moose for trying to draw attention to a race for the betterment of the sport when you don't have to.

it's funny that you refer to asking for clear information on rules and on the drivers who you are promoting on being there, as attacking.

I'm pretty sure he is just trying to promote awareness to the race. He is not the promoter.
The rules are posted on the track website.

this show seems to be a non wing 360 sprint car show with no tire or injector rules. what surprises me is the continued attempt to make it seem like it is anything else.

Geez Racin Buddy, do you have some kind of ax to grind here with Moose, Petaluma Speedway or Mr. Soares?
People just passing on info that they thought folks might not know about. You should give Mr Soares at the speedway a ring and let him know how you feel.

Thanks for the attempt Mr. Moose. It's much appreciated. I've been in Disneyland the last week and haven't been concerned with anything but chasing my 3 year old around the Magic Kingdom.
You probably should've just referred the posters to the links you provided in your original post for clairification. Probably would've saved a headache or two.

If you have not driven north on 101 (toword Petaluma) on a Friday afternoon before, you need to be prepared for heavy stop-n-go traffic. I'd get thru the Bay area and beyond San Rafael as early as you can. If you arrive too early go by Pace Truck Chuck's house and have a beer....if you don't mind PBR.
