He had multiple restarts and slide jobs and still didn't get it done. Sounds like he wanted to beat the crew chief more than the driver.

Well, if he definately had the better car and he had multible restarts and slidejobs but couldn't get it done, sounds like he was out drove by Saldana and the driver failed.

No, if you know anything about sprint car racing at all you would realize that you can't pass on a rubber down track no matter what you do. That's why Donny went after him so early. On a normal track, Donny would have waited until they got into traffic and outdrove Joey like he usually does. Joey couldn't even pass lap cars by halfway b/c of the rubber.

Try listening to the broadcast before you form an opinion. Sheesh.......

Regardless, it is what it is. That's racing. Congrats to Joey on the win and to Donny on a great run.

I think Donny is doing just fine without Ricky. He has the point lead doesn't he?

Was there rubber down through out the whole race? I would say for the first 25 +/- laps he had more than enough chances on a "normal" track. Like I said, he sounded way bitter.

There were 3 cautions early that allowed Joey to race on an open track, the last of which was on lap 13. Within 5 laps of the final caution Johnny Gibson said rubber was being laid down, which was when Joey could no longer pass any lapped cars.

All Donny said was that he thought his car was better, but the track was not allowing anyone to pass. I don't think that is bitter because any driver in second on a rubber down track isn't happy.

Joey is the one who said he thought Donny would be better because this was Donny's type of track. Well, I got news for ya Joey-The only driver who's type of track that was is the leader's. Sounds to me like Joey is pumping himself up trying to get over the fact that he has Ricky Warner and Donny is still leading the points and has more wins than Joey.

I wouldnt go bashing other posts and posters because it sounds to me like you dont know as much about sprint car racing(or dirt track racing in general) as you may think you do....I have seen on a number of occasions(and a number of races) that you can INDEED pass on a rubber down racetrack. Just ask Mark Kinser about doing that about 4 years ago at the Napa Classic at Knoxville when he drove around Craig Dollansky on a dry slick track!! He would eventually win the race but would be disqualified because he was about 17 pounds too light at the scales. Let's see....how about ask Tim Shaffer 3 years ago at I-55 Raceway at Pevely(when he was driving the Beef Packers car) when he passed several cars(granted on a fresh new right rear Hoosier) but nonetheless passed about 10 cars on an absolute tire shredder of a rubber down track!! If you would like, I can recall about a dozen more races where there were a number of positions being swapped on dry slick surfaces. So, my friend, it can be done....it just sounded to me like Donny needed something to bitch about like he always does when he is the lesser driver on any given night!! It wasnt the first time and Im sure it wont be the last!! Sounds to me like you need to get out more and explore your horizons instead of listening to the races on Dirtvision!

Two of those three cautions Schatz lined up behind Joey. Each time he slid up along side him. He was even in first place for all of about a quarter of a track until Joey passed him back. Are you going to tell me he's not bent that Ricky left him?

How many times did you say dry and slick? That's a little different than rubber down.

Yes, if Mark was light, I'm sure he could pass. Yes, I'm sure if you have on a newer tire you can pass. Donny had or was neither of those things. The only way to pass on rubber down is if the guy in front makes a mistake and gets out of the rubber (unless you have on a new tire or are lighter than the other guy). I don't want to hear examples of passing on dry/slick. That is not rubber down. And I was at the ultimate rubber down race (King's Royal - Sides). The only was you passed was when the guy in front of you popped his tire!

Yes he did pass Joey, but when you slide up out of the rubber the other guy drives right back under you. It happens all the time.

Yes, Donny isn't happy that Warner left, but not just because he left. Warner lied to Donny and said he would be there for at least two years, then went back on his word. Warner even said he did. But that's okay, because KK can pay Ricky all he wants and when Donny wins the title again this year they can all sit and watch Schatz put on another championship ring!

See, I don't remember him bitching. I bet if you ask about 24 other drivers they would say the same thing as Donny. At least Donny's crew didn't run over to Joey's car and start punching him!

Oh, so you're bashing Johnny Gibson, saying he doesn't know rubber down when he sees it? Shut up!

Yep, hope Donny will come through.

I heard Donny's interview and Ricky did make a 2 year commitment to Donny and left after 1year. Ricky wasn't happy at Everham Motorsports and Donny gave him an opportunity.
