Any word on what happen to Redman at Knoxville tonight. It didn't look to good the way they pulled him out of the car and rushed him to the hospital.

I spoke to a track offical after the races. Name will be withheld but this person said Redmond has a history of heart problems. It was a miracle that no one was hurt. He actually ran into Rager Phillips' car and nearly ran over several people in the process. Rager's car was undamaged so he raced in the 410 A. The Raceway did not have any other infomation that was as of 12:30.

Just got back from IMMC visiting Wayne. He is off the ventilator; sitting up and eating a little food. He will do an Angiogram sometime Monday. He wants to thank every one for their thoughts and prayers. It means a lot to Wayne and his family. The doctor said if this would have happened somewhere else, Wayne would not be with us. Thank you so much my fellow co-workers, Knoxville Safety Crew!!! You are the best again

I dunno but to me a guy with "history of heart problems" shouldn't be in a sprint car. If anyone remembers the late great John Stevenson when he found out he had heart problems he retired . Hope Redmonds going to be O.K and glad nobody got hurt!

Update: I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to the Knoxville Raceway saftey crew because you proved once again that you are the best in the business. I would also like to give a shout out to the Phillips Racing Family. What a great family. I'm not sure how many racing teams would be the first to send flowers to a driver that ran into their car. I was shocked when I received their flowers and card first. What a class act by a great group of people. Chaplain Troy Miller, I can't say enough about your thoughts, prayers, and visits, Thanks. And a final BIG THANKYOU to everyone that has sent cards, flowers, thoughts, and prayers. Presently I am sitting in Iowa Methodist Medical Center awaiting Friday, when I get to have open heart surgery. I am anxiously awaiting the 2010 racing season where hopefuly everything will take a beating and keep on ticking.THANKS TO EVERYONE!!!!!!

Dang, Wayne! This is the first I heard about what happened, just happened to stumble upon this post.
Get well soon and I hope to get to see you race again some day, you were always fun to watch on the track.
BTW, Donnie and Rose were here over the weekend and we were talking about you. (Don't worry, it was all good!)
Continued best of luck in your recovery!
