Calistoga Speedway went away from the assigned seats last year in order to reduce ticket prices. The only complaints so far are that some people like to tape blankets over the seats far in advance of the actual starting time of the race (sometimes the day before) and then some of these seats are left vacant during the entire evening of racing. We have seen this at last years USAC race and at this years events. In order to prevent this and allow everyone an equal opportunity to get good seats, there will be no saving of seats before the gates officially open at 4pm for the races this Labor Day weekend. Once the gates open at 4pm and spectators are let in, THEN YOU CAN SAVE YOUR SEATS WITH BLANKETS ETC. but you must remove them after the races Saturday night and then bring them back Sunday. Please be respectful and courteous to your fellow race fans. We had a lot of fun last year, so let's do it again!

while i understand this practice on sat,if someone has thier ticket for both days it would be nice if they could leave blanket for same seats on sunday without having to be there the minute the gate opens.

I would pay extra for reserved seating.

What's the big deal guys? Be at the gate at 4pm, secure your seats, go have a beer,(or three) and come back and enjoy the races! What's it take, 30 minutes? I'll play the game and STILL get the seats I want!
SUPPORT WILDLIFE, go to a sprint car race!
