Tulsa, Okla. (August 26, 2009) - This Saturday night on August 29th, the Oil Capital Racing Series sprint cars make their only appearance of 2009 at the West Siloam Speedway for a night of ground pounding racing action. The OCRS sprinters were rained out on 5/23 in their first attempt to race at West Siloam Speedway in 2009. Tulsa's Mike Goodman will be looking for a "three peat" after taking back to back checkers at Outlaw Motor Speedway on 7/31 and 8/21.Jamie Passmore of Rose, Oklahoma currently leads the OCRS point chase for the 2009 championship. His lead however is only by a scant 44 points over Rafe Essary of Stillwell, Oklahoma. Sitting just seven points behind Essary is Danny Smith of Sand Springs, Oklahoma making the battle for the season title to close to call. Two time main event victor and early season point leader Matt Sherrell of Owasso, Oklahoma is returning to OCRS action after competing in midget races last week in Texas. Evan Sewell of Jenks (Okla) and Jonathan Beason of Broken Arrow (Okla) are two other A main event winners in 2009 OCRS action who are expected to compete this Saturday night. Sewell took the 2009 season opener at Mid-America Speedway on 5/9 while Beason, in his rookie year with OCRS, took the 6/20 event at Caney Valley Speedway in Kansas. Gates open at 5pm with racing set to start at 7pm. Ticket prices are: $15 Adults / $13 Sr. Citizens / $5 kids 7-12 / 6 & under are free. Track Phone: (918) 422-5009.
