Went to Dodge City Saturday to cover the NCRA late models and I remember people stating that the grandstands from the fairgrounds had been finally torn down. I also got to thinking about the history of racing there and was wondering where Isaacs shop was located?
Is there anything left in Dodge City from back in the old racing days? S.O.S engine service building or Isaac's shop or anything?
My one and only time to the old Dodge race track was in '85 (I think) when me and friend Chris Smith went up there for an open sprint show. There were quite a few Colorado 410's there and Jon Johnson. I remember that Jon blew his motor in either hot laps or his heat and then drove his car to the shop, they changed motors and he came back and ran the feature.
Thank you in advance.

I remember that night as well. Jon blew the motor in his 410 car, so he drove down to get his 100" NCRA car. Jon drove the ol' super through Wright Park and into the race track. Pretty funny deal.
