Jacksonville and Twin Features at 34 This Weekend for Sprint Invaders!

(Bill W) August 18, 2009 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders hit the halfway mark on their 2009 schedule this weekend with dates at the Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois on Friday, and the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa on Saturday. The event at the 34 Raceway will serve as the 2nd Annual Brian Hetrick Tribute and will again feature "Twin Features"!

"The Lil' Dude" Bobby Mincer leads the Sprint Invaders into the banked ¼ mile in Jacksonville Friday with an eleven point advantage on Matt Rogerson. "Flyin'" Ryan Jamison, Jimmy Davies and "The Hitman" Mike Houseman Jr. round out the current top five in the point standings.

Jacksonville has been home to some exciting shows over the years, and unfortunately the Sprint Invaders have lost two of them earlier this year to weather. In 2008, Jerrod Hull became the first repeat winner in the nine series events held there over the years. Josh Schneiderman took the Herb Barlow Memorial in September, and the Sprint Invaders return to the exciting oval for that event this season on Friday, September 11.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. in Jacksonville, with hot laps scheduled for 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.MorganCountySpeedway.com!

Saturday's event at the 34 Raceway will mark the third appearance at the banked 3/8 mile oval for the Sprint Invaders this year. "Showtime" Kaley Gharst won there in April, while Mincer prevailed in June. Houseman Jr. won a special non-wing feature event that night as well. Mincer and Houseman Jr. also took the "Twin Feature" events at the track in 2008. Rogerson leads the all-time Sprint Invader feature winners' list at 34 Raceway with five victories.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. at 34 Raceway, with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Receive $1 off your ticket price by wearing a Brian Hetrick shirt! For more information, visit www.34Raceway.com or call Amy Laue at 319 750-3454!
