The scrambles are run to allow the top 10 cars in points in the A, B, and C main to make a few more points(and bucks) and improve their starting position in the prospective races.
The B, C, D, and E mains are just that - races that allow a racer to progress into the next feature; provided that he finishes high enough.
For example, if you win the C scramble from tenth, you may pick up enough points to start the C main on the pole. Then you'll get a transfer into the B main...and so on....

Tonight's B-Mains are for Non-Qualifiers only(those outside the top 50 in preliminary night points) if that's what you're asking. 1st through 10th in points run the A-Scramble, which adds points to your preliminary point total to determine where you start tomorrow night in the top ten. Guy with the most points after the scramble starts on the poll. 21st through 30th in points run the B-Scramble , and 41st through 50th in points run the C-Scramble. The extra points cannot advance one from starting in the B to starting in the A, or from starting in the C to starting in the B, however.
Those who areoutside the Top 50 in points have to run in one of tonights B-Mains to try to make tonight's Non-Qualifier A-Main. the winner of tonight's A-Main will start 11th in tomorrow night's C-Main. 24th in tonight's A will start 14th in tomorrow nights D-Main. The 9th and 10th place finishers in tonight's B-Mains will start 15th-20th in tomorrow night's D-Main. and those who finish 11th or worse in tonight's B-Mains will go to tomorrow night's E-Main.
