Week 20 and 21 of the League were reserved for rainouts - wescoe and I had planned on doing a random interleague draw to fill the 2 weeks. Slight change of plan, I will try to be brief.

It will be a 2 week Interleague Division Challenge.

Next week (20) - all 10 division 1 teams will take on all 10 division 4 teams. Pairings will be straight across the board (1 vs. 1 and 2 vs. 2 and so on). Same for divisions 2 and 3. Now of course all individual matchups will be scored and will apply to League standings as normal - but I will also score the divisions against each other. If Division 1 wins 6 of the 10 matchups - then they win that week - and in Week 21 will take on the winner of Division 2 vs. 3. Now if both divisions split - then total points for each division that week will determine the winner.

I strongly feel this is the most fun AND fair way to fill in the 2 open weeks we had - and still do it interleague. However, we do need all 40 picks on - because its divisions goin' head to head, not just teams.

Week 20 will be Division 1 vs. 4 - and 2 vs. 3. The 2 winners will face each other Week 21 for the division crown (we should call this The Pennant lol) - and the 2 week 20 losers will do battle in week 21 in what amounts to a "3rd place game".

I'll stop here - I think this explains it ok. Remember - this is for weeks 20 and 21 (august 21st and 28th). After that will be Championship Weekend for this league - and the opening round of the exhibition tournament "The Shootout" (both are on same weekend - Labor Day Weekend) Entry thread for the Shootout will be posted Monday. ANYONE can enter and play in the Shootout.

Just a thought for next year. Why not divide the season in half and give everybody a fresh start? The first place teams or the low total points of the first half could be automaticly be in the play-offs at the end of the season, and the second half could give everybody else a fresh start. It could keep peoples intrest up throughout the year with teams that may not get off to a good start. If you take the top 2 from each division they could play in there own division for seeding in the playoffs and then remix the other divisions so other teams would play each other. limit it to 40 entries with existing teams having rights to return unless they want out or have 3 or 4 missed weekly picks and then that spot becomes available for someone on a waiting list. Take 8 more teams from the remainig divisions in the second half and have a 4 week playoff with 16 teams looking for the crown at the end of the season.
