Some people just don't get it...

The specially schemed car will carry a commemorative design of Mario Andretti’s STP-sponsored Brawner Hawk that the legendary race driver piloted to victory in the 1969 Indianapolis 500. The No. 15 entry Schatz will compete in will duplicate the look of Andretti’s winning Indy 500 machine, with its distinctive “Hunting Red” color and gold wheels. With Andretti on hand, the car will be unveiled with Schatz during a special ceremony at 1 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Knoxville.

Looks good to me. But my opinion, as well as everybody elses, doesn't really matter.

Good luck to all RACERS this week in Knoxville.

"HUNTING RED" and GOLD WHEELS?????? I'm not color blind so I know Flourescent orange and baby puke yellow when i see it. Did he get the wheels from Stevie Smith's left-over Raace collection? That thing is hideous!

do it in the dirt

The fact of the matter is racing royalty was on hand at Knoxville yesterday, when Mario Andretti graced the HoF with his presence. A paint scheme to comemorate a true legends win at Indy can't be all that bad folks!! It really don't matter what the damn color is, fucicia, mauve, turquoise, taupe. Whether its got black wheels or pink wheels. That thing will contend for the Nationals title again. Like it or not!!!

Friends... STP's colors were the dayglo red and Petty's color was blue. They met in the middle, obviously, based on Petty paintjobs for years. If you want STP colors... this is it.

IMO... the wheels are just flat out ugly. Maybe the idea was ok... but the execution is way off. Ugly.

Car itself is sharp looking to me. I don't think the black numbers are very "throwback"... inconsistent with the era... but maybe it's a little throwback and a little modern all in one.

OK, as for diecast cars in general... finally have a moment to say my 2 cents worth and they may not even be worth that.

I think the manufacturers do a nice job on the paintjobs and basically nothing else. I could nitpick the release picture of the Schatz diecast... the differences in it and the real car/chassis/hood/etc. but I'll just say manufacturers don't do much more than paintjobs in sprint car diecasts. To me... it's not enough to justify the cost. Take a picture and frame it if you like the paintjob.

Great looking paint and decals match pretty good. The regular #15 and #20 TSR cars are both great looking cars, have to be in the top 5 or 6 out there. Both easy to spot on the track.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

I hate Donny Shatz as much as anyone else does, put I do appreciate teams doing things like this even if it doesn't look as good as it could.

I would have liked to see it in the blue car like the old stp days but as long as we dont see it in victory lane I dont care what color it is. T-mac scheme is ok should have done the whole car like the top wing ,I do like bill balogs 17b new colors.

Dirt is for racing, asphalt is for the parking lot.
