For those of you bringing a sleeper or an RV for the USAC deal on Saturday and Sunday at Calistoga, Petaluma Speedway will leave the pits open to racers and their families overnight for those that want to come here, but don't have a place to go on Friday night. Petaluma Speedway does not have hookups, but will leave the water on and the bathrooms open in the pits.
3 nights of Wingless racing on Labor Day weekend? YES!

This should be a great show! It is for 360's only right? Is there any bonus for the highest finishing Spec Sprint?

I am sure Petaluma Pits will confirm but that is correct it is an Open 360 show meaning injected, or carburated.
Also, from my understanding they are offereing $300 xtra for top finishing spec, $200 xtra for second finishing spec, and $100 xtra for 3rd finishing spec.
If the track is hooked up like it was for the race last weekend this should be a great show perhaps with some special guest appearences for some of those drivers heading up to Calistoga for Saturday and Sunday.

All observations so far have been correct from what I've read. OPEN 360 show, injected, carbureted, etc. Wings are off. Extra money for highest finishing carbureted cars is also correct. I MYSELF am having problems accessing the entry forms on www.petaluma-speedway.com, but no one else is having that problem, so it's probably my computer. Point is, the entry forms and information is on the website.
Lauda,
I see no reason to see why we won't qualify. We use the same procedures Civil War/Chico/Placerville uses. Invert 6 in heats, take 4 or 5 from the heats depending on car count and invert those cars based on pill draw. I have also read your opinion of said format, but am equally convinced 1/2 mile with wings lends itself to incredible speeds for everybody, negating any "charging" from the back. The pill draw on a 1/2 mile is indeed very important as you've stated, but I think the format works for the most part. I think after it all shakes out in the end, the top drivers are at the top of the point standings.
