I had never heard of him until this year when it was announced he would be running for rookie of the year with the All-Stars. I have seen him race 4 times now and me and my better half are big fans now. We were impressed at Quincy Ill during a Mass show. He was the only one STANDING on the gas. In the A i guess his shocks broke and ended a good one. but he got our attention. Then we saw him at US 36 with the All-stars. he didn't have a great night but he only got passed by people like Tmac and Kaeding. We were lucky enough to talk to him after the race at aa truck stop. He was very nice and wasn't bothered to talk to a fan for a couple of minutes.
Then there was the Ironman 55. I was very impressed with how fast he was for limited laps with a wing with the big boys. Friday didn't start well but DC drove a smooth and clean B-main. he passed several cars but ran out of time. i don't know if anyone else there noticed him but we enjoyed watching him. Then Saturday night I'm sure he got some peoples attention. Started 11th in the B and won. Again he was smooth and clean doing it. He may have only been 19th in the A-main but look at all the experiance in front of him. I really hope this guy keeps the wing on for next year.

Daron Clayton is a gasser! I've been watching him for at least 4 years now - since I first saw him win one at Haubstadt. He's a really nice guy too - very cordial.

If you ever see him race without a wing,he'll really get your attention!!!
I havent seen him race with a wing this year. I was chatting with him at Attica for the makeup Ohio Speedweek race, when it started to pour, and that got cancelled too. Told his mom & dad earlier that night that we fans in Indiana were ready to see him run without the wing again!!
Daron & his family are very nice folks. I always enjoy chatting with them.

I saw Daron Clayton race without a wing at Grandview Speedway two years ago. He quick timed and then when he came to to the front stretch for the quick timer interview he took the time to thank all the fans for coming out. He was battling for the win with Brady Short before Short stuffed him in the wall. Clayton bounced off the wall and kept going but a couple laps later was overdriving it to try to catch back up and hit the hit the outside wall on the front straightaway and flipped pretty much right in front of us. That night made me a fan too.

Time to roll out the highlight reel. Go check out some wingless shows esp. at Haubstadt you won't be disappointed. I've never been to Kokomo but that is a good track as well.

I just saw his Fat Headz sunglasses paint scheme for K'Ville on Facebook. Said he has a spare engine as well for this week. Best of luck guys!

i just got done e-mailing fatheadz and thanking them for supporting him. If any of you other fans get bored you could do the same. maybe if enough of us do it they will stay.
