We wanted to say "Thank You" to all of the folks at Perris Auto Speedway for making our 11 hour drive from the north well worth it.

We were first welcomed in by the track prep guys who spent all day in the blazing heat. Julie Tanaka made sure we had a radio and transponder and was very nice while taking care of us. Bruce Bromme had some tires for us and took the time to answers my many questions. Our buddy Steve Howard introduced Marty to Jimmy Oskie who spent time tutoring him between races. Greg Sowers introduced us to one of our favorite race announcers, Scott Daloisio and then Greg and his dad ran around promoting the upcoming Louie Vermeil Classic. Ray Stansberry and his crew were a great bunch of guys to pit next to. We got to visit with Tony Jones and his pal Bob Davidson, Mathew Shedarowich and his dad, Cory Kruseman, the Folks at Kittle Motorsports and the Josh Ford crew. My wife Kim talked with the WRA guys who we hope will bring those beautiful old race cars to Calistoga, and I think she spoke to some of the other teams when I was busy with our car.

The bottom line is that you racers and fans in SoCal have a great facility and a great bunch of people and I sure hope you can stick together and keep it going. One guy who is doing his part is Mr. Wags and we sure do thank him and all his pals who donate so racers like us can have that much needed gas money to make it back home after the races (we were cutting it close).

Marty didn't set the world on fire, but he got some much needed laps on a big track and got to race with a great class of drivers. He really wants to run at Perris again soon. He's always looking to improve on his last race, but we're not sure how many trips the old motorhome has in it.

We can't wait to see you all in Calistoga

Thanks again for making us feel so welcome. We had a blast!

Chad, Kim, and Marty Hawkins, papa George, cousin Chance and uncle Ty.
