WESTERN MIDGETS VISIT ORANGE SHOW SATURDAY
The USAC Western Midget series returns to the famed Orange Show Stadium in San Bernardino, Calif. Saturday night for the first USAC Midget race at the famed oval since 2005.
Scott Pierovich of Alamo, Calif., currently seventh in the series points, won that 2005 race and hopes to notch his initial 2009 victory Saturday. His best so far this season was a second at Madera Speedway.
Garrett Hansen has a 127-point lead over Jerome Rodela in the latest series standings. Hansen is trying to win his first USAC title, while Rodela, the 2005 and 2006 titlist, is seeking his third.
