Atlanta, GA – July 22, 2009 – Historic Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas will host the 2nd Annual Thursday Thunder “Triple Crown Challenge” featuring the Parts Plus United Sprint Cars, the Rislone USCS Modifieds, Riverside Stock Cars and Riverside Mini-Stocks on Thursday, August 6th at 7:30pm. The event features the most unique format in the track’s sixty-year history. With posted bonuses, one driver could take home $10,000 for the evening’s efforts by winning the Triple Crown Challenge. Winning the “Challenge” would include legally competing in and winning the main event in the Parts Plus USCS www.partsplus.com winged sprint cars, the Rislone www.rislone.com USCS Modifieds and the Riverside Stock Car divisions on Thursday, August 6th.

Additionally posted for the second time around for the popular event will be a $1000 bonus for any driver who can win two of the featured divisions. A $3000 bonus is posted for any driver who can win all three of the other divisions excluding the Parts Plus USCS winged sprint cars Those would include, the Rislone USCS Modifieds, Stock Cars and Mini Stock features. The Parts Plus USCS sprint car main event will pay $2000 to win. The Rislone USCS Modified Touring Series event for open wheel modified type cars will award points toward the championship in that series and pays $1000 to the winner. The Riverside Stock Cars and Mini Stock feature races will each pay $500 to the winner.

During the exciting inaugural event held on Thursday, July 10, 2009 the 2008 United Sprint Car Series Mid-South Thunder regional series Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas nearly completed the Triple Crown Challenge. Crawley first won the Stock Car division. He then raced from the ninth row in the thirty-lap USCS winged sprint car feature to grab the lead from Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. on lap twenty-six for his thrilling second win of the night. This set the stage for the third piece of the Crown in the Rislone USCS Modified finale. Crawley started in the second row of the Rislone USCS Modified feature and seemed poised for the Triple, but was involved in a lap-seven tangle that ended his evening shy of the big prize.

The Riverside Speedway Triple Crown Challenge is also part of a three-night, three-state swing for the Parts Plus USCS sprint cars. After Thursday night’s event at the famed ¼ mile Gumbo bullring known for action and guaranteeing Thrills, Chills and Spills, the sprint car series moves over approximately two hours to North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama on Friday night, August 7th. The triple-header weekend concludes two hours North of Tuscumbia at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee on Saturday, August 8th.

Why is it that Pete Walton schedules a "big" race against the 360 Nationals? It would seem to me that he would encourage the USCS drivers to go to Knoxville to compete? It is hard to say that the best of the best in 360's are at Knoxville when Terry Gray is running elsewhere.
