I like that the WoO is trying this, the only knock I have against it is that the second race isn't worth any points.

And my pics for the Race 1 is Steve Kinser, Race 2 Sammy Swindell

Its because of the invert. You can't penalize the ones that do good in the first race if its worth points.

? for all

Back when Knoxville ran twin features for the WoO (back prior to that stupid 50 lap pit stop race in 2001) were both races for points?

I believe that they were but I could be wrong.

Maybe it would be too hard for the current points leader to have to pass ANYONE.

Thank god that the nationals can't be won without passing a single car. Atleast not yet anyway, we'll see what dumb idea is in store next.

So do both features pay the same for the win and so-fourth down the line? If not than why run the 2nd feature, or one could ask if they do pay the same than why is it not a points race? I am not sure what race this post is actually about but if the track has the WOO for a one night show and decides to have a double feature than it should be for double points and double pay or what would be the reason to run your equipment for one (pay point) show?

I agree completely....go for points. BUT....if there are no points on the line and only money on the line then you may see some drivers take more chances trying to get to the front. Specifically the ones racing for the points lead right now...Schatz, Saldana, Kinser, Myers, Lasoski.

How is it a penalty when the guy that wins the first feature already has first place points and the chance to score a lot of points in the second race? By your logic, the heats and feature should start straight up by time trials. An inverted feature for points would reward drivers fast enough to pass instead of just riding around in a parade.

i don't agree with the theory "they will race harder if points arent on the line". BS. if they don't run the piss out of it in the 2nd call Tatnell or Solwold. i bet they would. and the points would make the big teams run harder so nobody gains on them.

It's not about racing harder, it's about taking chances that you normally wouldn't. Racing hard and taking chances are two different things.
