This past week.I finally got a chance to go to one of the Tulsa' racer's reunion monthly get togethers. I went over to have lunch there with my dad Jerry "Skeeter" Crawford.There was probably about 30 or so former drivers,mechanics and car owners there.Even a former flagman.Most of these guys I havent seen in 20,30,40 years.Even after all these years.I recognized a lot of faces.I may not of remembered a lot of their names.But here are a few that was there.Derrill Brazeal,Marvin Brazeal,HerbMoore,Jim Ozment,Ray Crawford,car owner Harvey Hunter,Jerry Stone,Shane Carson,Slayton Durrett and flagman Don Bucy.There was gentleman there handing out copies of racing articles/ads.Great Stuff. Going by the clippings.There were 2 tracks in the Mohawk area in Tulsa.One of course was the Mohawk Speedway.The other was Ryan's Speedway. But if you get the chance to go to one of these monthly meetings.Do so.It was well worth my time to drive a couple of hours in from Arkansas to have lunch with my dad.Plus get to see some of my racing heroes.I hope you all will do so to.
Tulsa's Racers Reunion is at the Cherokee Casino.On the 3rd Wednesday each month at 11am.
