The Murphee Brothers in Rowlett TX have found another one, this time it is a heartbreaker set of lines.

Thanks Brian for posting the photos. This car was originally owned by The Chapman Bros. of Dallas. It was driven by Tom Marshall. Several feature wins in the area. It also ran the Knoxville Nationals. '73 or '74, Tom climbed the wood fence and landed in the old quansit hut barn.

No, the way you see the car is the way we picked it up yesterday. The tires are Firestone 500's. They were on it!

If that's the car that went through the hut at Kville,I have a picture of it on it's hauler, a flatbed truck, headed in the pits earlier that nite. 72 nationals . If I recall arm injuries from that crash ended Marshals driving days.

From what I have learned, Tom did break his arm/shoulder. But, he did race for awhile in the Dallas area afterward. I don't think it was for long. That is the car on the hauler. At the time it had a chrome cage. I haven't found out exactly when it was painted.

Hello, my name is Paul and I just joined the forum. Txracinfireman, FYI, I believe Tom's son Rodger repainted the car about 10 years ago and Tom is still alive (81) even though he recently suffered a mild stroke. I am trying to get him out to the Manifolds on Main St. Car Show in Sept. Let me know if any of this is of interest to you. Thanks , Paul

HelloPaul,
Welcome, I've been quiet on the forum for a while. Tom Marshall was one of my Dad's favorite drivers during the middle 60's when lots of the Dallas, Fort Worth guys came to Lawton to race. The Chapman Brothers car was my favorite when Jerry Crocker drove for them in that cut down coupe with 1961 Ford Falcon fenders for a hood. The restored sprint car is a great job. I remember Tom racing at Oklahoma City during the fair in that car. I always watched the #8.
