It's County Fair Time Thursday and Friday for Sprint Invaders!

(Bill W) July 7, 2009 – The Annual "County Fair Week" has arrived for the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders. They will compete on the racy ¼ mile Cedar County Raceway oval in Tipton, Iowa on Thursday night, and move on to the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa on Friday. Both tracks yield wheel to wheel action that you don't want to miss!

Thursday's race in Tipton marks the third year in a row that the Sprint Invaders have entertained the Cedar County Fair crowd. 2002 and 2006 series champion, "Flyin'" Ryan Jamison was victorious in the inaugural appearance for the series in 2007, while 2004 champion "Lil' Dude" Bobby Mincer won in the series visit last season.

Racing starts in Tipton at 7 p.m., with an autograph session with series' regulars slated for 5 p.m.

The Sprint Invaders visit the track holding the most history with the series, the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson on Friday. This will mark the 29^th appearance at the entertaining 3/8 mile oval for the Invaders. The leading feature winners over the years include those who have won on three occasions: Terry McCarl, Jeff Mitrisin, Matt Sutton, "Showtime" Kaley Gharst and John Schulz.

Racing gets underway in Donnellson at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $12 for adults, kids 5-12 are $3, with children 4 and under admitted FREE!

Veteran Matt Rogerson leads the current point chase heading into this week's crucial doubleheader. He is followed in the top five by Mincer, Jamison, rookie Ben Wagoner and Jimmy Davies.

What is the weather like in Tipton? Is it still a go for tonight?

After the successful wingless experiment at 34 last month maybe we can get more this year, or perhaps an entire season of it next year.
