Currently light rain, but it's supposed to clear off by 11 with up to a 15% chance of rain all day. Let's go racing!

David,
Are they going to have the fireworks tonight that they have left over from last night?
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

They said the fireworks will be next Saturday. The real question is: Is this going to be a repeat of June 13 when they didn't cancel till 3 when it wasn't raining but the track was too wet and there was no sun and wind??

Waiting til 3:00 is fine with me. I'm getting a little tired of the track canceling races early for the convenience of racers who drive from out of state past their home track and expect Knoxville to schedule around them. It is their choice to come race here. =

Yeah, there's quite a few tracks within driving distance of Knoxville where a driver could run a weekly 410 show on Saturday night.

Just took a look at radar and there is no rain within 7 states. Knoxville received just under and inch this morning.

Wow sometimes I wonder what Cappy is thinking! It's the 4th of July, people are gonna have kids wanting to see fireworks. Why make them wait till the week after the 4th?
Probably because there's too much going on tonight? Maybe they should have kept twin features for both classes next week!
Btw...with 305's tonight there will be 4 features. Just as it would have been if they kept twin features on the 11th! And there's no Knoxville Hall of Fame inductions.

The company who was suppose to shoot off the fireworks are already booked for
tonight so thats the reason for shooting them off next saturday. I think the reason twin
features night was split up is so the racing will be better. 4 features with 410's and 360's
is too much for a track in one night.

Thanks for the info Cubfan. I think if the track would give a little more info into why things happen then we wouldn't have reason to speculate.
This is the first year in many years that my family can't make it to every race as we have 2 micros racing around Iowa. It's nice to know what you can have to look forward to when you can make it.
Let's go racing!

I agree..Eagle raceways website has an update from this morning saying the track work is underway and the races are on, while Knoxville's website doesn't have any info.

If it doesn't say we're not racing, then we are. If we're not planning on racing, it will say so within a few minutes. Pretty simple...
If this post isn't results, stories or something c
constructive, it isn't me!

Bill you said what i was thinking. Why do people try to read in to something that is not there.
Kind of like wow i wonder why there not racing the second week in july because it does not say they are.
Thanks Bill for all you do.
