Sprint Invaders Arrive with Fireworks at West Liberty Saturday!
(Bill W) June 30, 2009 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will be on hand this Saturday night as part of the "Firecracker 50" festivities at the West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, Iowa. The Sprint Invaders will join the NASCAR Late Models, Modifieds and Farley Flyers on the card. Fireworks will follow the show!
2007 series champion "Showtime" Kaley Gharst shook things up with his second feature win of the season last Sunday at the Quad City Raceway in East Moline, Illinois. Matt Rogerson leads the series' standings heading into the famed half-mile oval. Despite getting on his lid in heat race action, he continued to finish the night out.
"Lil' Dude" Bobby Mincer is 20 points behind Rogerson, and the top five is rounded out by "Flyin'" Ryan Jamison, rookie Ben Wagoner and Jimmy Davies. "The Hit Man" Mike Houseman Jr., Tony Daniels, CJ Houseman, "Special Delivery" Matt Harms and Justin Parrish currently round out the top ten in the standings.
This will be the fourth appearance for the Sprint Invaders at West Liberty Raceway. Josh Schneiderman was the victor in 2008, and Jerrod Hull (2007) and Jesse Giannetto (2006) won previous events. The Sprint Invaders will race during the Cedar County Fair in Tipton, Iowa on Thursday, July 9, and also at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson on Friday, July 10.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow. Adult tickets are $16, Seniors are $13 and students are $10. Kids 12 and under are Free with a paid adult!
