I noticed that a special deposit was made in turn two during hot laps at Knoxville saturday night by T-Mac. RIP DD.

Very nice. Thankyou Tmac and thanks to anyone at the track that was also part of it. A lot of us are missing the sage commentary right about now.

Duane Davis, AKA Nodust, passed away a few months ago. I am assuming that his friend Terry McCarl got the honor of spreading some of his cremains in front of Duane's favorite place.

One of the coolest things I have ever read on this message board. Big ups to Knoxville Raceway and Terry for doing this.

A great post, "nodust in turn 2" And, at the most appropriate place, with the HOF and Suites overlooking. With Duane's presents at the track, could he be a factor in who wins the Nationals this year?
Didn't something similar happen to Dean Thompsons remains? Was it at Perris?

One of the coolest posts I've read here.
My father wanted to be cremated and put where he was happiest, the place that just thinking about it changed his mood for the better.
Turn 2 at the best sprint car track on the planet just got a little better.
TMAC catches a lot of flack... and he does things like this under the radar that not enough people catch. Way cool, TMAC.

He should be arrested and charged with 'improper disposal of human remains'
oh ...... wait !!!! the TMAC haters have probably already called the Marion County Attorney and are demanding he be prosecuted .....
I think No Dust had a hand in TMAC's win .... being that Duane 'dropped by the track' Sat. night for one LAST time.
RIP No Dust

I arrived at the track after hot laps, so didn't see the event. For those who did not have the opportunity to meet Duane, he was one of the friendliest, most likable people I have ever met. I had only seen him a few times in the last two years, since I only get to the track for Nationals and one or two shows a year, but he was always in a good mood. If you had a suite in the HOF, he knew your name, what suite you were in. Although we have not had a suite for the past four or five years, I always stopped in and said hello. RIP, nodust. Keep everyone safe in turn two.
Also noticed that the gentleman who guarded the HOF parking lot in past years was not on duty. Are they no longer making sure that no one "steals" a parking spot, or has something happened to him, as well. I don't know his name, but have had several conversations with him. He is a wealth of information on sprint car history.

I have always been a McCarl fan and think it shows how much class he has. Thank you Terry for remembering a great guy like Duane for all who met him in person and those of us that met him through Hoseheads.

Very cool for T-MAC to have the honors, I dont think you could say a bad thing about Duane and to you nay sayers it really shows Terry has a good heart. I know alot had fun on here doing battle with Duane on the message boards but when it came down to it he was a hell of a nice guy and a sprint car fan to the end...... Hell we are all part of a sport we love to argue about at some point or another but we all love it and enjoy our saturday nights and for sure wouldnt trade it for the world......I kinda wonder what other racers/fans ashes have made there way to the famous 1/2 mile in Knoxville I know for sure I was part of introducing our good friend Ralph Blackett who now resides in his famous low groove in turn 1 complete with his famous beer of choice ( Busch) mixed in for good measure about a dozen of us had the privelage of carrying out his last request. Anyone else know of anyone that found there way back to the track????
