SATURDAY - NOON:

If you are coming to Kennedale today/tonight, there is a major crash on I-20, apparently from early this morning, but:

I-20 IS SHUTDOWN FROM GREAT SW PARKWAY to NEAR 287.

Michelle just called me and said it's complete gridlock - with no signs of it changing any time soon. People are even abandoning cars on the freeway it's so bad.

TO AVOID:

Take I-30 to 820S to get to the track if you are coming from points to the East of Kennedale, as it may not be cleaned up by racetime!

Man on overpass arrested, I-20 reopened in Arlington

Arlington police closed Interstate 20 in both directions at State Highway 360 this morning when a suicidal man threatened to jump off a bridge over the interstate.

Sgt. Os Flores said police negotiated with the man for hours before he surrendered and was taken into custody.

The interstate was closed around 6:30 a.m., and traffic remained backed up until around 1 p.m. Flores said all lanes are now open.

The 29-year-old man, who was not identified, was distraught after apparently assaulting his girlfriend at a home in Arlington earlier this morning, police said. Charges had not been filed in that case.
