Here's the rules. You'll find them to be pretty standard Southern Sport Mod/Limited Modified-type rules.

http://www.texarkana67speedway.com/uploads/limited_mod_rules.pdf

Now a word about teching at Texarkana 67 Speedway and at the Tootsie Smith Memorial...

Both Michael Lynch and Mark Smith believe that rules are no good without thorough teching. Just a couple of weeks ago, the 2nd place Limited Modified was busted for illegal connecting rods (too long).

You can expect any or all of the following to happen:

-- Carburetor pulled and inspected.

-- Intake manifold pulled and inspected.

-- Cylinder head pulled and inspected.

-- Bore and stroke checked.

-- Oil pan pulled.

-- Rods and crankshaft checked.

And that's just the motor. Anything in the rules can be checked.

$3000 to win/$300 to start. Top 4 can expect a tear-down! No one will be cheated at this show!

See ya August 1st!

This weekend, July 10th and 11th is a good time to head southeast to the Texarkana area esepcially if you run a Limited Modified!

It's just 3 weeks until the August 1st, $3000 to win, $300 to start, Tootsie Smith Memorial for Limited Mods at Texarkana 67 Speedway. Texarkana is racing Friday AND Saturday this weekend but Limited Modifieds are only running on Friday night and Modifieds are off both nights THIS weekend.

The MSRA Super Late Models ARE running BOTH nights however at Texarkana 67 so for you Late Model watchers, there ya go!!!

Ark-La-Tex Speedway IS racing both Limited Modifieds AND Modifieds THIS SATURDAY night along with the Texas vs, Louisiana Winged Modified Shootout. So you Open Wheel watchers, there YOU go!!!

Come on over and have some fun in the Ark-La-Tex region this weekend.

Here's the Limited weekly pay scale at Texarkana:

300-225-150-100-75-60-50-45-40-35-11th-20th: 30 to start.

here's the link to the entry form:

Just so you know, at this race, ANY Hoosier 500 regardless of part number or American Racer 500 is legal. May not be that way in 2010 but it is in 2009!

Texarkana 67 Speedway is closed this Saturday night, July 18th in support of Ark-La-Tex Speedway's Comp Cams Summer Nationals, so...

You're final opportunity to test a Limited Modified under racing condtions before the Tootsie Smith Memorial Race will be next Saturday night, July 25th.

Make sure you entry is postmarked by THIS Saturday, July 18th. OR....

Come join us at Ark-La-Tex Speedway on Friday or Saturday night during the 2nd Annual Comp Cams Summer Nationals and visit with Mark Smith. He'll have entry forms for the Tootsie Smith race and there is no entry fee for the Comp Cams Sum Nats. Limiteds will pay $600 to win on Saturday night with $60 to start with 22-24 cars starting. Friday's practice and time trials are NOT Mandatory for anybody and only sets the front row. The rest of the positions are up for grabs on Saturday like any other normal one-day show except for 23rd and 24th which are reserved for the 3rd and 4th fastest times if they can't make it in any other way. Friday's pit pass is just $15. Even if you're racing somewhere else on Saturday, Friday would be a great time to come get some laps in and who knows, if you hit things right set-up wise, you could set fast time and not want to go anywhere else on Saturday!

Now granted, the pre-entry fee of $30 is just a $20 savings over entering at the gate because Mark and Micheal wanted to keep these entry fees as low as possible for the Tootsie Smith Memorial Race, but HEY, THIS is for a LIMITED Mod/SPORT Mod (Southern full-frame cars) ONE-NIGHT show purse of over $10,500! (plus other race incentives TBA soon!) When you pre-enter, it helps us out by keeping things moving faster on August 1st -- the more cars entered BEFORE we get there, the better things will flow at sign-in. Also, we can tell the fans some of the names who pre-entered but we really can't say who's coming otherwise because you just never know til that night! They changed this to a LIMITED Modified show this year because they wanted to see someone other than the Jared Landers-types, Chris Henigan-types, Mike Bowers-types, Eddie Martin-types, etc., have a shot at winning some good $$$. And we love all those guys! Don't get us wrong -- all good folk! But they wanted the less-funded, smaller guys to have a shot at the $3000 too. (Now watch, one of those guys will jump in a Limited and win the $3000 and that's OK, because THAT'S RACING! It's not just who has the money but it's also who has the talent and knowledge too-- and, no matter who wins, you can trust it's going to be a fair show for everyone!!!)

Here's the paydown:

1 $3,000
2 $1,000
3 $700
4 $400
5 $375
6 $350
7 $325
8 $320
9 $315
10 $310
11 $305
12-22 $300

With the entry fees considered, 22 guys are leaving with a normal weekly show take of at least $250 -- more depending on when they enter and finish. That's like 22 feature winners in one night! And of course a couple guys are getting significantly more than that and for one, it's going to make his year!!!

BTW, Those top 8 will REDRAW for the first 4 rows of the A-main!.

Other race incentives and give-a-ways TBA very soon!

So help us out and PRE-ENTER if you can!!!

6 classes in all will race counting Limiteds.

Also racing Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Street Stock, Southern Stock and Novice. Word is, that the Novice class will race a feature only. It may be a long night but it's just ONE night! And I'm sure they'll have the Limiteds going first and early most of the time for travelers! So...tacky early, dry-slick and maybe rubber-ed up late. 40-lap Limited Mod A main?Hmmmm....????

Anybody want Motel info?

Here's some info from Michael Lynch:

Quote:
Camping at the track, OK. No hook-ups. Best Western Texarkana: $75 room $89 for suite. Working on a couple of others...

So an Okie's going to be a threat to win this one eh! You know Eddie Martin had this one penciled in too but then an opportunity came up for Eddie to run a Late Model in Wisconsin that night.

Never know though....

That yankee weather's still fickle even on August 1st and this is just a ONE-night show. Martin has a few of those Big Chief Sport Mod chassis down here. I wouldn't be shocked if he shows up just not expecting him at the moment...

Good luck to Chad and the rest of the Oklahoma contigent! Hope you do well and have fun while your down in the '4-States corner'!

Was rained out 2 days early back on August 1st but I tell ya what....

You know we're getting this one in on the 29th and if not we'll reschedule again for this year so there's no risk in what I'm about to ask here, trust me...

Let's get ahead of the game. Go to this link and print out an entry form and send it in along with your $50 fee:

http://www.texarkana67speedway.com/u...mith_Entry.pdf

We'll quit taking them around the 22nd (one week before the race).

This will speed things up on the 29th for everybody AND we'll get an idea of who's coming for the fans that may want to travel. Deal?

Even if the unthinkable happens and we rain out all available dates until there are no more this season, Michael and Mark are straight-up guys. I promise your entry fee is coming right back so, let's give it a shot!

The mini-four wheeler that will be drawn comes from ATV Dirt Bikes & More in DeQueen, Arkansas.

Also on that Roy (might be 'Ray') Morris Challenge, you have to finish the race in 12th place or worse to be eligible for the $200 drawing but you must be running when the checkers wave.

They'll be a wrap from Extreme Graphics drawn at the driver's meeting. Marshall Lube & Auto is bring some oil over to give a way and there are other driver's meeting giveaways from Smiley's and J&J Racing as well!

Should be a real fun and rewarding night for many!!!

It looks like Mother Nature's going to be nice to us this time. Some much needed isolated showers will hang around -- we could use a little -- tonight and tomorrow and then on Saturday (and I just got this off weather.com):

Partly cloudy, high 88, low 67, 0% chance of rain!

Can't beat that on August 29th in Texarkana!!!
