From Team Kemenah:
(3-6-07) Four time All Star Champion and 2006 World of Outlaw Rookie of the Year, Chad Kemenah is currently looking for a ride in a 410 winged sprint car to continue racing with the World of Outlaws. Chad had been running with the series in 2007 for owner Pete Grove, but the owner has ceased operations for the team due to lack of funds. Initially Grove had committed to racing the entire year with the World of Outlaws but is unable to fulfill that commitment.
Chad brings with him a wealth of experience in winged sprint car racing and would welcome any and all opportunities at this time or possible sponsorship. Please contact him at 419-894-6054 (home) or 419-348-2222 (mobile).

I know you are getting your rocks off over a driver losing his ride Pat, but this is NOT the first driver, nor will it be the last driver to lose his ride.
There is no way in hell 30 drivers can make their living on the road, and in years past, when the local tracks opened their season, many cars pulled off the road.
When you spend $300 or $400 a night for motels for the crew and $50 a day each for meals and misc., it doesn't take long to understand the cost.
Diesel fuel around here has jumped .35 a gallon in the past few weeks.
I know, with your chip on your shoulder, that you understand this, but since the WoO is all that is left, and your NST has ceased operations, anything that happens is DIRT's poor management.
I would look for another 10 cars at least to pull off the road actually, and percentage wise, that still will be no higher than it has been in the past when the local and regional series start for the season.

Sorry, Duane, but I don't see how DIRT's management has anything to do with the Kemenah/Grove decision to split up and pull off of the road.
Perhaps you can explain your logic here? DIRT is paying the top 20 in points, aren't they?
Grove has pulled out at least a couple of times over the past few years, usually citing finances. Perhaps Chad needed to do better investigation on Pete Grove before agreeing to the deal and getting rid of his stuff.
What next? Will you be blaming DIRT for the demise of the NST?
Chuck.....

Sprinter25, you missed Duane's point completely, read it again. He is not blaming DIRT whatsoever, big communication breakdown here. Take It Easy....

Duane, once again you have proved to the world that you know absolutely nothing about me.
This post was in no way a slam to DIRT, the WoO or Chad. Matter of fact, if you have paid attention, you would know that I have been a Kemenah fan for quite sometime. Hell, I even paid a fellow poster $20 at the Chili Bowl on a bet I lost of Chad (I bet that Chad would win the WoO Championship last year). If you think that the title to this thread is somehow a bash, you are wrong again. I (like you) knew that there is no way that the WoO could support this many teams and I knew it was only a matter of time before they started falling off the trail. After all, it has happened every season, even with half as many teams out there. I just never figured that the Kemenah/Grove combination would be outlasted by folks such as Carlson, Hindi, Martin and Moser

funny how these true believer kool aid drinkers interpret the cold hard facts of business as a "bash"...
if this is how pathetic you are, prepare for more ahead...the tow money is not enought to sustain a crew, hauler, car, motor home, tire bill, engine rebuilt, new chasis, etc.
maybe nodust can go back and read the entire text of Bill W's...I mean T Mac' press release last week when he mentioned the pressure of racing against the field of pros this year.

How could Pete Grove underestimate his finances to think he could make the 2007 WoO season but is running out of money after 7 races? Something else is up here. Pete has been in and out of this sport for the last couple of years and to take on the WoO schedule was a big surprise to everyone and no surprise that it is over already.
Good luck to Chad in finding a new team to drive for. He is to good of a driver to not be driving a sprint car.

I agree IBRACN, there is something else to this story. I believe that Chad/Brian were not happy with the way things were going. They changed chassis and motors when going with Pete and Chad has used Kistler motors since the beginning. Maybe they were lacking HP? Maybe they are parting ways in hopes of landing something else before the season gets too far along? Just my thoughts.

Diesel fuel going up $.35 / gal. puts a team out of business less than a month into a 10 month (not exact) season?
$300 - $400 / night for the crew...do like the rest of us and put more than 1 person in a room.
$50 / day perdiam seems high...I could expect that much if they were paying for their
rooms, but if they did, than how come the $300 - $400 per day motel bill.
Bottom line, if the owner was depending on top 3 finishes to keep the team going it was a
bad business plan.
