Sorry for starting a new thread everyone but I just wanted to make my point.
If you look back to the April All-Star race at Attica Raceway Park, Dustin Dagget grabbed the final transfer spot in his heat race but flipped end over end after taking the checkered flag. That put Chris Andrews next in line as the alternate but officials declared there to be no alternates as the rules had changed. Even as Dustin Dagget opted not to even fire his car for the A-Main because it was destroyed, 23 cars started the A-Main and Daggett was payed the $400 for start money.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it Webb.
To the guy that got screwed by MASS (aka Webbs circuis) you took the green flag plain and simple, you should get start money.

This is from the All Star rule book... seem pretty clear to me.....
7. A-MAIN. The fastest six cars advancing to the A-MAIN through the qualifying heat races will be lined up by a pill draw with fans doing the draw on the front straightaway fast time first etc. Remainder of 24-car field lined up by times. There will NOT be any alternates, the 24 cars qualified for the a-main from the heats and b-main will be the 24 starters.
Sorry, but no one got screwed here, according to the rules that were available to all competitors.....
And since the MASS guy got paid, he didn't get screwed either.......so I guess that your point is wrong.....

Be careful not to say anything bad about the allstars or you might get sued.

Most lawyers won't take a case unless there is a cause for action, so if anyone's being sued, there must be a reason.
And it's kind of odd that the poster on the other board claims that it's taxpayers money being wasted by the suit against him....
"You stand up to a 'guy' and say what needs to be said and he wastes tax payers dollars,by hiring a lawyer...."
And I'm not a Guy Webb fan or foe - just pointing out that there are two sides to everything,,,,,,

sprinter25,
I understand the alternate rule but the guy did get screwed when he took the green flag of the race and didnt get paid. Dustin Daggett didnt even push his car off for the A-Main and got paid.

Read the thread again - he did eventually get paid..
http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum~ThreadID~30414.htm
And what's wrong with the "no alternate" rule, and its subsequent affect on Daggett? Sounds like a good deal to me, in spite of the crashed car - he got paid for making the main, which, I'm pretty sure, didn't make him unhappy!

sprinter25, I think the main point that tie_down is trying to make (or at least what jumped out at me) is that Daggett got paid for NOT starting the A-Main, while the guy in the MASS race had a hard time getting paid after crashing DURING the A-Main. You're right, in the end it all worked out, it's just a little fuzzy how the two rules seem to work against each other (no alternate vs. having to take the green to get paid).
Signature here.
