Has anyone on here gone to the Knoxville Nationals lately? My wife bought me tickets to this years race for Father's Day and I'd like to know if anyone can give me some feedback on where to stay? Local attractions?
Thanks,
Mark

You have to go to Mr. C's for breakfast. It is right across from the track. You need to go to Taso's downtown to eat also. The Hall of Fame is always good. Slideways Carting track north of the track is always fun. If you want a great steak go to Udders north of town. You can cook it yourself or have them cook it. Of course if you like a little adult beverage, you have to go to Dingus Lounge right across the highway. If you get bored, you can always go to Pella.

We stayed in Pella at the Holiday Inn by the golf course. Very nice, even got to hit some golfballs at the driving range, was unable to play the course they had a tourney going on that day. Pella has some really nice tourist sites as well. All the things that Dave mentioned are great places in Knoxville. The one thing that I regret not doing is going to Dingus Lounge.

Hey Dave I was at Knoxville for the midget race a few weeks back and Taso's has closed down. You are most definitly correct about everything else.

Thanks for the info. guys. We want to try and play some golf while we're there so it looks like we better look at Pella.
Des Moines doesn't look that far from the track either and they show allot of golf courses up there too.
I'm definitely looking forward to the museum, I check those guys out every year at the Chili Bowl.
Thanks again, Mark

Wow, can't believe Taso's closed down!
If you want the best corn in the world there is an older couple with a pop-up trailer just south of the track on the east corner that sales all kinds of produce, and it is the best around!!!!
Pella is very cool as well to just walk around and site see.
Des Moines is about 45 minutes from the track.
Don't forget about The Kone Korner for good ice cream
