Hurley picks up 2nd feature win of the 2009 season at St. Francois County Raceway on Saturday night. Jimmy Hurley out of Springfield, IL didn't want to take any chances with another bad pill draw, so he sent a crew member to the pill draw to decide his fate & was happy to get the #30 pill. In heat race action the #35 piloted by Jimmy Hurley started on the outside of the 2nd row & would quickly make his charge toward the front. In the 2nd circuit of the heat Hurley would take away the 2nd spot & begin reeling in the race leader. He would make a hard effort to charge toward the leader in the heat but fall short of a heat race victory resulting in a 2nd place finish but good enough for a position in the Dash. Starting 3rd row outside the 6 lap dash "The Hustler" wasted no time picking up 2 positions in the first 2 laps, by lap 4 he was in the 3rd position quickly running down the 2nd place machine but wouldn't have enough laps to get the job done. In the 25 lap A- main the #35 Action Graphix, Miles Chevrolet, Maxim Chassis would line up in the 3rd starting position & knew he had to make something happen in the first couple circuits. Hurley moved into the 2nd position on lap #2 by using the low line & set his sights on the Veteran leader Robbie Standridge out of Springfield, IL. Jimmy would use the low line one more time on the track on lap 6 taking the lead & never looking back. "The High Side Hustler" would hustle the electrifying #35 sprinter around the high side for the remaining 19 laps & encounter 3 cautions in the event but would come home victorious picking up his 2nd feature win of the 2009 season. The 25 year old Springfield, IL native Hurley said that the car got tight toward the end of the race but felt really good the first 20 laps & also thanked the crew for watching the track & making the necessary changes to the potent #35. He went on to dedicate the win to his 7 week old daughter Peyton who was not in attendance. Up next for Hurley Racing is Friday June 19th at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, IL & Saturday June 20th at St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, MO.
