It looks to be a great night of racing, Friday July 10th, at Wilmot. With the Outlaws in Burlington, IA on the 8th, and Charter hosting them on Saturday the 11th, maybe a few stragglers will turn their rigs to Wilmot on the way up North to race against 2 strong groups of Sprints. To have 3 groups of Sprint cars represented at Wilmot would be a great thing for the people

who run Wilmot, as well as for the reputation of the track. I am looking forward to this clash of titans...

This could turn out to be a HUGE show. I will go ahead and predict 45+ cars. Any takers?

Any other drivers from outside the IRA/MSA showing up? T-Mac? Who else.......

This is posted on the Wilmot web page:

Released: June 9, 2009

The Wilmot Raceway is proud to announce the rescheduling of the North / South Sprint Shootout to Friday Night July 10th. The originally scheduled date of June 6th was postponed by inclement weather. The addition of the Friday July 10th race to the schedule creates a big 2-day weekend at Wilmot Raceway as the Southern Wisconsin Modified Shootout is scheduled for Saturday Night July 11th. So now Wilmot Raceway will be the site of the 2-day July 10-11 Summer Shootout featuring the winged 410 sprints of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints & O'Reilly Midwest All-Stars headlining on Friday, and the Modifieds headlining Saturday. For the Street Stocks, 1200cc Mini-Sprints, and Fearless 4's it creates a great complete 2-day show for all those classes. With a limited schedule and tremendous interest, and what appears to be growing numbers in the base Wilmot Raceway classes, it was obvious we needed to reschedule and keep the interest in Wilmot Raceway strong. The availability of IRA was limited, and all concerned wanted to stay away from the 4th of July holiday, so this was the best day available. Not to mention the track needed a marquee event in July. This creates a great mid-Summer weekend for both the fans and competitors..... and certainly for Wilmot Raceway.
