Boy, for a a old fart, those are pretty good pictures!!! You appear to be pretty close to the action. Do you have a rope around your waist so Priefer can pull you out of the way if a car comes towards you?

Hope he doesn't have you hooked to the back of a water truck. LOL

No sign of any dust on June 12 at Kopellah mostly thanks to Mother Nature dumping some rain on the track earlier in the week. No substitute for natural rainfall. The track was heavy and rough except for the two Challenge Races. Just after they bladed during intermission, the track was awesome for those two races. I wish the sprints could have run their feature after the pure stocks, but the track was still fairly decent come feature time for the sprints. It was racier than I had seen it during my previous four appearances there this season. The sprints also did not run their feature race last, as the supers and mods ran after the sprints. I still think it was after 11:00 pm when the sprint feature ended though. They need to move the show along better in order to get done with the whole program by 11. Friday nights do not allow for an early start time, but better time management will assist them in getting their show done earlier on most nights. I also like the sprints running before the supers and mods. It just fits into the program better right at that point. Ron B indicated that he is going to be helping them with track prep when the sprints are there. Ron gave some blading advice tonight. Lack of water on premises with extremely dry spring is also a concern. The past two race nights they have had to buy water from Centuria and have it trucked over. Some additional rainfall would be greatly appreciated.

As for the young drivers, they have to have a place to learn and Kopellah presents a very good opportunity for them. Hahn, Luks and Zweber looked good in their sprint and challenge races tonight, but come feature time the more experienced drivers generally fare better due to the volume of experience they can draw from. I want to thank all of the drivers but especially those newcomers who are gaining experience race by race. They are learning and improving. I was especially impressed with how well Mike Luks ran in his Challenge Race. All of them, including several of the more experienced drivers I visited with, have a learning curve when it comes feature race time. Was nice to see a full 20 lap feature distance tonight. Smile

Maybe at Kopellah being hooked to the water track would be a good thing because it doesn't move very often. wink Just kidding, the track was a lot better on June 12 was darned fast after they bladed it prior to the Features.

Next task is to figure out how to run off seven classes a little faster. The ideal way would be to give one or two the night off but I understand the problem with that, if you give them too many Fridays off they'll go elsewhere.

Car counts are starting to look thin at some of the Fridays tracks, especially in the Mods where even Red Cedar only drew 16 and ran two Heats last night. The Sprints had a great field of cars and more than half the crowd left after their Feature was over. Thanks to all the Sprint Car fans who are supporting this deal at Kopellah. Everyone is working hard to make this deal work but it's going to take time and you have to crawl before you can walk and run.

I think they could get done sooner if they would start hot laps at 6:45 like the program says. Last night it was still after 7:00 before they started hot laps. The time lost to start the night just adds to the length of the night. I'm sure in time they will get better at this too.

I would like to take the time to thank the TW motor sports owners for bring me on bored this year as a pit guy. Ive never had so much fun learning all the ropes. My hat goes off to all the people that got this UMSS race going. I have to drive all the way back to winthrop after the races and trust me its not fun but its life. If you dont like it stay home and watch tv er do something else. And as far as the dust the fans just have to live with it its only gunna get better. There are a heck of alot of other tracks out there that are just as dusty. Keep up the good work you guys are doing yr best. Cant wait for the masters its gunna be a good night for the UMSS. Thanks for the hard work to all the crews and the track officals.

I have been to more than my share of WOO shows this year and I can honestly say that I would rather go to Kopellah Speedway on a Friday night and watch the Sprint Car races than attend a World of Outlaws race. The racing was great! yes, there are guys that need a few more laps under the belt but for the most part its a great night for $12! Its much better than $35 bucks to watch a one lane rubber down track. I hope the series continues and I would enjoy it even if my brother did not have 4 wins! I said it before someone commented that was the only reason I liked the racing

Hey Amy, do you guys get Hawkeye Racing News? If you do turn to page 28 of the June 10 issue. Top half of the page the headline is "Saldana Tops Night Honoring Car Owner" and to the right of the article is a photo of Brooke flipping.

The bottom half of the page is an article about Kopellah and the headline reads "Richert's Win Makes It Three In A Row In UMSS."

I'm going to cut the page out and give it to your brother this weekend. Yeah, I know I'm an instigator but I couldn't help but take note of that one. wink
