I hope this weather moves thru quickly. Car count will easily be 40 from what I heard. Racers heading in from 5 states.

Supposed to be a light rain/drizzle. It shouldn't hurt anything, compared to 2 weeks ago and hardly any water down. I think the only thing to worry about is the second round of rain/storms that is supposed to come later on. The pits were super dry all week, so maybe any kind of rain could soak in quickly, to me that may be the big deal, getting into and out of the pits. Yes, sounds like a good car count night.

It quit raining in Rockford about half an hour ago. Cloudy but it looks like the rain is done. Streets are showing dry spots. Looks like Lasalle is my last option for this week.

This is quoted from the IRA site. They made the call feeling they could not get the track into a decent condition and keep it that way within the time constraints of the curfew. I will chose my words a bit more carefully from now on so as not to offend anyone. How much did it rain there? Stopped here by 2:30, 3:00..........

it was a steady drizzle just enough to get the grass wet. i am not a track official but i can certainly say we didnt get enough rain to make a small puddle in the pits, let alone loose the track. but, what do i know? not much. just ask my kid.

That is exactly my point. Who made this decision? It was wrong, and if you are going to run a race track on "Wondering if we might get rain" then quit. That is not how to run a racetrack. There are probably more pissed off people having it be called this way, then if they had tried to get it in, and getting rain later on. They WOULD HAVE gotten it in. AND, the track may have been a little wetter than opening night.......All they had to do was look at the radar. Like you said, "what do I know?" All I can do is complain onto deaf ears.... I wanted to go racin'.................
