I am looking forward to going to the CW race this coming Wednesday! I have been to the previous ones and thought it was fun to go to a sprint car race on a Weds night. I have been wanting to go to a CW race but, the ones I wanted to go to got rained out I am curious to who will be able to go and how many cars will be there?
BTW: I live only about 25 minutes from the track off highway 50 and the traffic gets pretty bad on the weekdays! There is a diamond line so it might be a good idea to carpool so you can bypass the traffic
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Yeah I agree! Most of the GSC races I have been to this year have been really good regardless of how many cars show up. People make a big deal out of low car counts but I go to watch all the talented drivers the GSC has The BCRA cars were pretty cool to watch as well! We also support and enjoy watching the CW drivers so it will be nice to see them race together along with some of our GSC guys!

I live in Chico and while driving home from Placerville the other night I noticed the diamond lane. We don`t have those up here in the hinter lands of the north state. I assume that you have to have passengers with you to use the lane? Another thing I noticed while driving home was quite a few race car trailers with no tail lights. I was on the road near Placerville, Marysville and Cycleland and saw quite a few rigs with no lights. I also heard about a racer who was stopped near Orland Speedway with no tail lights. He got a warning to fix his lights. Placerville Speedway looked great the other night by the way. Allan, you have the track dialed in.

I've been waiting for Civil War all season at my home track...it'll be the second straight year I'm attending the Wednesday special, and I can't wait.

Until the website says cancelled, I'm going. How's it looking up there Kelly?
Leaving @ 3:30 with a group of 4 others from Santa Rosa. We'll catch all traffic through Sacto, and get there around 10pm when they finally call the deal off due to rain.

HEY! I thought I was the only one that had that kind of luck..................LOL! I live in Reno, so it's a gamble for me too...........(no pun intended). If the weather is iffy, I usually don't take the risk, but I've missed some great shows that are somehow able to get in, even though weather is all around. I've also been bitten by the greedbug when passion overrides logic, and I've taken the gamble, only to be reminded that "you can't fool Mother Nature" because the bitch ALWAYS gets her way, and she doesn't seem to be much of a race fan...........

Rain postpones Prelude to a Dream at Eldora Speedway, rescheduled for Sept. 9

Not so fast, I guess.
Dirt tracks can't survive rain like asphalt can and they've canceled the charity Prelude to a Dream at Eldora Speedway. The race has been postponed until Sept 9.
From the release just sent out:
“We worked really hard to make sure everything was right for the drivers, fans and viewers at home on HBO Pay-Per-View, but the weather was the one element we couldn’t control,” said Tony Stewart, two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and owner of Eldora Speedway.
Those who have already purchased the Prelude to the Dream on HBO Pay-Per-View, which was slated to begin today at 7 p.m. EDT, will be refunded.
Those who purchased a ticket to the event can apply the value of their Prelude to the Dream ticket toward any remaining event on the 2009 Eldora Speedway schedule. To view the schedule, please visit www.EldoraSpeedway.com or call the track office (937) 338-3815.

Awesome show.
Forsberg picks up the win after trouble with lappers take out the top two Hirst and Becker in turn 4 in the midst of a lightning storm right above the track. The skies opened up, drawing the yellow/checkered with 20 down of 30, but as a whole, the night was just a great great show.
