Sprint Invaders Return to 34 Raceway Saturday for Wing/Non-wing Doubleheader!

(Bill W) June 1, 2009 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders return to 34 Raceway this weekend for the first wing/non-wing doubleheader in their history! A complete program will be run for the Sprint Invaders. Following that, those who wish to, will run a feature without the wing! Rules for the event are at the bottom of this release.

Matt Rogerson leads the series' point standings heading into his hometown of West Burlington. Rogerson was victorious on May 22 at CJ Raceway, and leads all Sprint Invaders feature winners at 34 Raceway with five career victories. Rookie of the Year candidate Ben Wagoner is second in the standings after a strong third place run at CJ, and Ryan Jamison follows in third. Bobby Mincer, who won at 34 in 2008 is fourth in points, while Jimmy Davies and Kaley Gharst are fifth.

The Sprint Invaders opened their season at the 34 Raceway four weeks ago. 2007 series champion Gharst and car owner Randy Plath emerged victorious, and signaled that they will be a team to contend with all summer long. Jamison, who finished second, Rogerson, who finished third, Brian Brown, and defending series champion, John Schulz rounded out the top five.

Joining Mincer with 2008 wins in West Burlington with the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders were Rogerson, Schulz, Mincer, Mike Houseman Jr. and Brown. The Sprint Invaders have competed in 19 events and 20 features in their history at 34 Raceway.

Pit Gates open at 4 p.m. with Grandstands open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Adult tickets are $15, while Seniors and Students will be admitted for $13. Kids 10 and under are Free!

A regular Sprint Invader purse is $1,200 to win. The non-wing portion is taking donations and starting at a $2,500 purse. I guess it depends on how many run.

410s run Friday at I-90 in Hartford, SD, Lawrenceburg has WoO Friday and Saturday, Donnellson is POWRi midgets and 305s

any idea what the 305 show pays at Donnelson ??? Trish can't make it, but Jack could drop the motor in his car and call it "the week end to build on speed"

Fri...305 Donnelson

Sat..360 Burlington

Sun..410 Husets

http://www.leecountyspeedway.com/June%205%20Purse.htm I'd sure they'll get at least 15 cars, but 20's probably a good bet. So $500 it looks like.

think Hartford on Friday pays $2000, but only $1000 for second, $700 for third, $200 to start, but i know Jack wouldnt be racing for anything but the win. Could race 360 at hartford on Sat. and make it a South Dakota weekend.

What does Hartford pay to win ????? (on Saturday)

that was our plan all along to run Hartford Fri, over to Jackson Sat and back to Husets on Sun., but maybe we could just stay and race Hartford on Sat.

Looking at all our options....Thanks

not sure what the weekly show pays, we have to be in Knoxville on Saturdays so we only get to race the special shows. my guess is $600-$800 and definitely no more than $1000. good luck in wherever your plans take you.

Is team Dover boycotting Knoxville? If you are I can't say that I blame ya...So where will Bill W be? I think it is good that the Sprint Invaders run up against Knoxville, it gives racers and race fans options.

not boycotting anything, just trying to get in the most races we can in one week end, in the same area. Have to race smarter these days.

We always love running at Knoxville and will make our way back there soon.

Looks like we will be running up north this week end. Thanks

Considering the way he ran last October, I'd have to say Jack would be the favorite if he showed up at 34 Saturday night. Does he have any nonwing experience? Jacksonville is running a $3K MSCS non-wing show Friday night.

yeah he is excited to return to Burlington, but I don't think it will be this week end and he has never run a non wing, but he anxious to do that too. Thanks

Just came from sprint invader meeting. Everyone is getting pretty excited. A few guys took advantage of the non-wing play-day at 34. I think they are typing up a press release about purse and drivers.
