This is a racing message board. A racer putting his race car or parts on here to sell is not a problem. An ad on here selling your business is. I don't put my business on here. Wertz doesn't put his business on her. Todd Quering doesn't put his business on here. Brandon Schuette runs a vinyl business, you don't see him advertising on here. I'm sure Stan could use the money if you want to advertse on his website. What do you think Stan?

I don't want to get into a big discussion over this and I will remove my threads from this site. The only thing I was was doing was offering racers a service. As a 10 year driver I'm always looking for new services to aid in my racing. P.S. if you go to www.gbmsigns.com and look at the #99 mods those are my own cars. Sorry for ruffling any feathers.

Doesn't do any good to post services or products on here any way Mark. You will just get the email from people wanting it for free anyway.

Thanks for the compliments. I don't do many car designs these days simply because most racers want the car design thrown in with the actual vinyl lettering bill so I don't get to many takers on just selling the artwork to racers. The only car I have designed this year so far is Justin Glazer and I am in talks with Lasoski about doing a special design for the Nationals this year. Lasoski's 2008 national car design generated tons of excitement for the #33 and sold countless t-shirts for Lasoski last year so hopefully he is game again in 2009.

Thats great to know some one which I would consider local is doing big time work.
My biggest problem is that I don't have alot of clipart to choose from.
I'd perfer doing signs. But I love racing so thats what I do.

What do I think? A little background, I used to display advertising banners on my website but decided a few years ago to stop doing that. The concept was for me to create a banner and display it for a flat fee all year. Advertisers were wanting their banners redone half way through the season and some thought their $50 per year gave them a part in the decision making process on site content. It got to be too much hassle and it cluttered up the main page. This Hosehead's board is a service that I use and not hosted on the gotomn.com so I don't have anything to do with any ads displayed on this board.
When my photography started to take off and I started getting shots in papers and magazines on a regular basis I thought the photo sales might help offset some of those expenses. I put my emphasis on filling the photo needs of the tracks and sanctions and sit back and wait for business to come to me. That worked the past couple of seasons but this year with people not spending as much and all the competitive picture salesmen canvassing the pits with their portfolios nothing is trickling down to me. Based on how well I was doing last year at this time of the season I added about 20 more races to my schedule. Hopefully something will come up so I don't have to start cutting because it's not just a matter of me attending certain races but it's also the commitment to provide photos and support in the publications. Specifically there are a couple multi day events that will require a motel room so I don't have to drive 300 miles back and forth both days. I've got to have access to electricity and an internet connection so the ol' camper won't work.
But no, I don't care if people post this type of thing on here. This board gets a good amount of traffic but not so much that it's not managable. For the most part everybody stays on topic and it has been a pleasure to not have to take much time out for moderating. If someone wants to post an occasional item for sale or a link to their business I'm not going to stop them.
