After 22 years of dedication in TQ midgets, NMRA owner/driver Ron Ahrendt won his first main event Saturday night at Bakersfield Speedway. Ron took off from the pole and lead all 25 laps holding off Scott Dobson & 2nd year driver Jimmy Dodson. It was a popular win among the NMRA for a guy who is always there ready to race & support the series. For the NMRA, it was the 6th different winner in the first 6 races of the 2009 season and their are more drivers that will be getting their first wins in 09 to continue a very competitive season. Again, congratulations to Ron Ahrent & the #87 team on their victory in Bakersfield.

Congratulations from me too...has it really been 22 years already, seems like yesterday that you were just getting started. Hope your not gonna be one of those guys that retires just because you can go out a hero at the top of your game!
