TULSA, Okla. (May 4, 2009) - The Oil Capital Racing Series hits the ground running starting Saturday with the 2009 season opener at Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. The opener is the start of a four-week run. Mid-America Speedway has re-opened under the ownership of Kenny Gariss and will host the OCRS for the first time at 7 p.m. Saturday. A strong field of cars is expected along with several new rookies that will compete with OCRS. Drivers meeting will be held at 5:30. On Saturday, May 16, the OCRS travels to Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada for the Harold Leep, Jr. Memorial. In addition to a complete OCRS show many retired racers will be on hand with their vintage supermodified race cars. May 23 takes OCRS to West Siloam Speedway at West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma for a show that begins at 6 p.m. The month of May concludes with a stop at Outlaw Motor Speedway which is located 5 miles south of Muskogee on Hwy 69. It will be the second attempt to race at Outlaw after the scheduled season opener was rained out on April 17. Race time at Outlaw is 7:30.

I talked to Barry Grable yesterday and wanted to let you all know that he says the American Racer RR tire is the only one you can use at OCRS events , He said no Hoosiers on the RR.
