Jeff "the Hammer" Garnett, oh wait I'm sorry he has other nicknames too, I just can't say them on this forum. I mean come on Jeff, you started racing some 20+ years ago and you still do not have any car control whatsoever.
It's pretty bad when you crash on the parade lap. Not to mention all of the other racers equipment you tore up after the race got underway. And if that wasn't bad enough, since they didn't run a "B" feature and you made it into the "A" feature and proceeded to tear up even more of the #78 teams equipment.
You need to give it up. I am currently working on getting you a front row seat in the Grandstands complete with lap belts and shoulder harnesses. Don't forget your Helmet, and make sure you got pleanty of Tear-offs. We don't want you to hurt yourself Sunshine.

Right there with ya unc. I will even pitch in for the seat, if it keeps him off the racetrack. How much money does he have to go through before he gives it up? Obviously he doesnt care about his own money, but he sure causes everybody else to go through theirs pretty fast.

I usually agree with you Allen, but not this time. Garnett and Pickard were victims of Shane Sellers slowing to a stop on the back stretch in front of them. He apparently had major problems because he was scored at the back with the cars that flipped. Shane tried to exit to the infield but didn't make it. No fault here, just a racing thing.

Yep tmac shane had trouble but other drivers went high some went low "BISQUIT" turned sideways. If this one was'nt his falt what about all the other crashes or bone head moves he has made, Oh by the way I have stood on SFS flagstand in the 90's, so yes I have seen alot of bone head moves and not just from this one driver.
So I guess I see both sides

From a fans perspective, he is the worst. For as long as he's been out there he should have a little more control. I cringe watching people pass him cause you just don't know. I don't know the guy but is he a little "slow"?

No, Jeff is not "slow". He thinks at 100mph all the time. Just talk to him and you'll see.
I'm not going to get in on this debate, keep me out of it. I just don't want to see this turn into a feeding frenzy.

I'm with Brian26 on this one, I don't wanna get caught up in it, but there needs to be a correction. Jeff was NOT the one who caused the parade lap fiasco. That would be Leland Hicks in the 24h that caused that one.

Yea but 9 times out of 10 when there's an incident and you look up the #98 is in the middle of it. For someone who has raced for that many years he should know how to avoid those situations, most everybody else out there does.
I speak from experience, I raced with Jeff in the late 80's and 90's. He cost me a lot of money back then and he has'nt gotten any better. He's scary.....you never know, nor does he know what he's gonna do ( no car control ).
I guess he's going for Salesman of the year Awards for Bishop's, Smiley's, and Airflow. He sure sells a lot of parts for them.

This whole deal started about CAR CONTROL or the lack thereof from a 20+ year veteran Driver.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what the 4th or 5th time this season alone that the #98 has been involved in a Race ending incident with the Rookie Driver in the #78 car. You gotta know the #78 driver is going to make some mistakes in his learning curve as we all did. It's good to get these youngsters out there especially when their Family is as steeped in Racing history as the #78.
This kid is out there trying his best (#78) only to get "Hammered". If your agenda after 20+ years of Driving an Openwheel Race car is to take out the Rookies so you can finish 14th after starting on the front three rows becuase of your low Points Standings, you have no business on the Track period.
And if after 20+ years of Driving your biggest competition is the new kid, you should seriously consider stepping aside and helping a young driver, or sitting in the Grandstands with your sippy cup full of beer.

Yes you are correct. He did win a heat race not long ago. But after twenty plus years of racing that should be expected.By the way him and I started racing the same night in the same class in 1984 so I think I have plenty of knowledge what it is like in the driver seat.

Uncle A thanks for the support of my son he is trying hard and doing a good job. He just needs some more laps and he will be okay.
