Topic: Enid Speedway Park CANCELLED For This Saturday Due To Tornado Damage.

Enid Speedway Park has went ahead and cancelled for this Saturday due to tornado damage. There is light poles and the big garage door and the restrooms are gone 'not that they were used by some and you know what Im talking about' these are the things that I know of that is damaged. Cant get the track equipment out of the barn and cant race in the dark. But anyway Lonnie gave me a call and asked me to pass it along. Hope to see you guys the following Saturday. It probably was going to rain anyway!

With that tornado hiting around 9:30 it was a very good call to call the races early. It could of been alot worse. Thank God it was not. www.enidnews.com has a nice photo of the tornado and a you tube video of the expo center on the fairgrounds when the tornado was coming through.

So what restrooms were damaged? I take it, with the main grandstand concrete, that most of the damage was done in the pits? How about the "use to be" correction deal on the north end of the grandstands?
Where are all the sport mod guys going to race this week then? Remember that Elk City runs NCRA rules on the modifieds and sport modifieds. Support those tracks that support NCRA!!!

It was the pits that got it. The grandstands are pretty safe from what they are made of. As for the inmates next door I have'nt heard anything. If you got any ideas for all 5 classes please let them know what there options are. Im sure there all wating to race some where, Thanks

Correct me if im wrong but from what i was told is we r gonna re-run our whole show from last week because we didnt get one heat race in? I think thats BS if you ask me and the only reason is going out and ripping on your enigine and wearing out equipment and getting the car dirty for absolutely nothing. My opinion is that they should either A. Finish that night of racing or B. Finish that heat and features and then run another show but they prob dont wanna payout for 2 shows. Just my opinion. I want some others opinions on this.

Dustin what I was told is we are going to start were we left off. One heat race that was left then the A Features and then start all over again like a normal point night. Now that is what I was told. I will call Lonnie in the morning to make sure that is still the deal and get back to you. Thanks Jimmy

I just talked to Longpine and he said we are going to finish were we left off with one heat then the A Features and then run a whole new point show this Saturday.

That will be alot better of a deal. Hopefully all the damage will be repaired by this week and it will quit raining. Im soo sick of the rain.

Dustin I agree but think they should run the limited all over again. their was more one heat it was raining on them and looked like it was real slick. What going to happened if the ones that made the A doesn't show up or what if they have more show up because their was already 29 limited their . Their was going to be 17 in the b and only 8 makes it to the A. so if more shows up i quess they start in the back of the B or will they get in the last heat race?

I def agree with you about the limiteds but what i think they should do is only allow the cars that were signed in to race that weekend to be in the first A. Thats only fair to the guys that are points racing or for money. If they were lazy or out of town and werent there too bad soo sad. Im sure they will left whoever race in both though especially if its certain people. This track has aways had double standards for certain people and made rules up as they go. Im not the smartest guy in the world but you cant run people off that drive an hour away like woodward, hennessey, ect ect... I want the track to pick back up and i do everything i can but nothings ever posted on the website on whats going on, you have to call someone who calls someone..then is it the real truth? Just my 2 cent

SO, they are going to run the show were they lefted off. and start another one. so its going to cost another pit pass this weekend . what going to happened if you blow up or get torn up in the first a feature . do u think u would get a refund for the second pit pass.

Yeah if you run the first feature and have problems i would think if they have any back bone they would give you your pit pass back. You will have to buy another pit pass because we are running for double the purse.

I guess might stand to be corrected lol. But respectfully, I don't think so.
I could see it from both views I guess. I don't know when the hell I woke and started agreeing with promoters. I seem to have sickness lately or something lol. It just seems to me like anyone who enters the pits should pay - because they are running a complete show on top of the makeup features. Yeah the risk is enhanced somewhat. AH hell - it's not like every car in the joint is gonna break.
I would say if a driver broke in the makeup feature - and puts wants to put her on the trailer and leave - then yeah - they aren't even gonna be present for the "complete" show........give em the dough back.
But I really do think in most instances - if that were to happen to a driver - they would probably go ahead and stay for a multitude of reasons. In the end I think it's a non issue.

why would they not allow other cars to race? As its always been, tag in on the back of the last incomplete heat race. Its always been this way so why would they change?
I have never heard of getting a pitpass back if you break, no matter what kind of show it is!!!
I hope more cars do show up to race, Enid needs all the cars they can get and it shouldnt matter where they live. Bring em all to Enid and race a double show this saturday..If the rain will stay away!!!

I have not heard any thing about this cars showing up thing to race in the first A Feature or B Feature. But its just my opion they should not be able to. The other drivers were there and did there job no matter were they ended up. I dont think its right to let them tag on 'they should of been there'. As for the second races let them all race. But I have no idea what they are going to do. I dont run it, I just try to help out. jmo

I dont understand this way of thought.... Its a chance to bring in more cars... To have a chance to run 2 A features in one night is attractive to some out of towners and it would probably get them here. Why would anyone be against them running both shows? If the heat races are done then tag them to the back of the A or B feature, if there are still heat races left then tag tham to the back of that. It works out for everyone this way and as far as I know this is how its always been done at most tracks!!!
None of this will matter if it dont stop RAINING!!!!

Jason when I was racing and this kind of thing would happen and then they let the new ones show up and race I hated it. Im sure Enid will let anyone tag on when ever that day comes. This is just my opinion from a drivers point, not as a fan. Im sure there are other drivers that fell the same and ones that dont. But anyway are you and Milt going to make it?

I personally dont think its right to let them tag in but its alright with me with the car count because im about ready to go else where to race or get into racing another class if it doesnt pick up.
